so speaking from my preowned bmw ownership experience, bmw pays for the first few years of scheduled maintenance, so when the maintenance reminder says to go regardless of whether you hit the date or mileage limit, you get it done, or else they could use it against you if there is a warranty...

Be cautious about doing bm3 or anything else similar. BMW is now able to detect changes when doing diagnostics, which can adversely affect your factory warranty should you experience an engine related failure of some sort.

I was told no by a tuner, but he also cautioned to research properly because some intakes will throw a code that can’t be written out. He also said stock airboxes are best unless you are running big turbos, etc. and open intakes are only good for noise.

All I got from this was to warranty your cracked badge, have your dealer burn your car and get a new replacement? Did I get That right? but in a serious note: what is this live wire under the car? This does not sound very safe....?

If this does not work, try using a jumper battery instead of the charger.

This engine being direct injection, I would be more concerned about carbon deposits around the valves. I don’t know if catch cans make a difference on this engine.

That owner is lucky all things considered... a direct hit into the building or tree would have been much worse

No side airbag deployment? In a lot of cases the cost to replace blown airbags can total a car... but if the bags weren’t triggered, and with the car being so new, I’m not sure if they will write this off and they might repair it.
