The bad thing about the MG1 being cracked just recently, is now this gives them time to fix the exploit before the Supra comes out assuming they use it there as well. Lets hope its a critical exploit that doesn't get patched up in time. But with the hybrid electric features, who knows what ECU...

If its a BMW engine, it will likely be BMW engine control, which should be handled by the MG1. BMW locks down all their software because frankly that's where the big bucks can be spent. If Toyota has a contribution to this project, its on the electric side, and I doubt a hybrid injection system...

Will need a stand alone that does Direct Injection. The N54 crowd had to wait for the Syvecs because of the piezo injectors, that really held that platform back big time. Only now are they actually beginning to see results from it.

Yes, I also went into much more detail than that. The G20 is the next 3 series and it will use the B58TU. The S58 is the next M engine after the S55. S58 could be called S55TU if you wanted. I wrote a piece on the Supra and potential 48v electrical system. I also suggest that there may even be a top Supra model we don't know about yet which will use the S58 engine, found in the next gen G80 M3/M4 I hope it is okay to post this link here...
