you are correct, the japanese automakers haven't figured out how to make an aggressive offset from the factory.
european cars aside from their sporty wheel offsets from late 90s and 00s, have currently managed to extend out the OEM wheel hubs to help with the flush looked your after.

there were many that was happy that Chevy didn't unveil their new mid engine Zora at Detroit, but it seems they might be.
great post, but Toyota while still a great car company hasn't been as bullet proof as in the past. Its not just Toyota but Honda and Nissan as well.
people are no longer just doing routine maintenance on modern day toyota's, and their reliability suffered with their (japan) economy where they...
never said the S2000 interior was the best looking, but from a driving position, location of the shifter, the door panels and transmission tunnel that acts as bolsters for you legs (you cant sit indian style in the driver seat of the S), the S2000 is better for the driver than the cayman.
part of the reason why my S2000 and Cayman R is an enjoyable as it is to drive is the interior.
yes it doesn't hurt they're N/A, but in the S2000 you feel like you're in single seater because the door panels and transmission tunnel acts as bolsters, and the shifter is less than a foot away from...
this is a pre production car. parts have already been approved and are being made for production next year.
this is what the exterior and interior of the car will look come auto show in the fall, and there won't be another iteration from now till dealer delivery date.
when you see a Toyota symbol on the airbag cover but see a BMW shifter, BMW I-drive controller and switch gear makes for one confusing car.
I don't care how much you love this car, the interior is as important a place as the car itself.
somewhat disappointed about the interior. i understand why they chose the BMW parts bin, but if i were Toyota I would've at least spent the money and developed an interior of their own with their buttons and switch gears.
the only reason i'm still interested is i can't wait to see how it...

as owner of an AP2 and 987r this car interest me because of what Toyota is trying to do which is almost a bigger faster version of their GT86.
one good thing to come out of the collaboration, it's the best looking Toyota wheel and tire offset wise, which BMW with their sport pkgs and M cars has always been great at.
regarding the two finishes they could just be testing it and you'll have a choices, but then why not have one finish in...
don't know if this was posted... very good read and best one for me so far.
