I have ordered a tread depth gauge but until I get some opinions on acceptable tread depth difference between tires for an aggressively driven sports car it won't be very useful. I've got the Copilot suggestions but wanted to get some opinions on the forum of pros/cons. If this was my truck I...
I probably have ~2k miles on my 305/35/19 Michelin Super Sport tires. Something in the road blew one of my tires (luckily I seem to have avoided any other damage though I can't confirm for sure until tire comes off my wheel). Before I get to spending $$ wanted to poll the group on a few things...
Your methods for the LCA sound far too easy. If a mallet and/or screwdriver arent involved to “align” the bolt hole in the LCA, along with a jack that has quickjack blocks stacked on top (ideally they keep falling off too when the bolt hole is mm’s from position so you can get more practice...
I like to hear that. So there is specifically a large dip in a highway I'm thinking of. Feels like it compresses and then rebounds fairly hard and then I'd say continues to oscillate longer that I'd like. I set the dampener in the middle at 12 on the rear simply because I figured I wouldn't be...
Finally got around to installing my Fortune Auto 510 coilovers this weekend as they've been sitting in my garage the past couple months. Initial driving assessment - big fan compared to Stock strut + Eibach Euro lowering springs. Over the years I've always gone lowering springs for my cars and...
If we went by what exists in search/google we'd have like 3 posts a day on this forum. The whole point of the forum is it provides people to ask specific questions about their specific car (and also provide updates on what they've done/pictures...)...even if their question may only be 5%...
I have roughly the same offset wheels. Eibach euro springs. 275/35/19 on the front rubs on turns where you're also going uphill a bit (like a driveway). Now I have 305/35/19s in the rear which rubs a bit on bumps - plenty of people have 30's and are typically fine.
My long awaited coilovers...
I would have absolutely bought these had I not ordered Fortune Auto coils about a month ago. Not sure how I missed this - but someone else will be getting lucky. Total steal, good luck with the sale
I'm pretty sure I'm going to go the same route. I read back through that thread a couple days ago. Have a feeling I'll pull the trigger before you receive and install, but good info on the helm joints. What spring rates did you go with? I'm just having a tough time justifying the price increase...
Appreciate you documenting all of this and hope all is good once you fire it back up. What was your reason for not just pulling the engine? Seems like you're only a few steps away from being able to work on it on an engine stand.
I haven't pulled/built an engine since my 300zx TT so for all I...
Very interested in this same question. Strongly considering grabbing some coilovers on black friday. For me it's a combination of needing to raise things up a bit (I have rubbing on lowering springs with 305/35) plus the bouncy feeling you describe. I feel like I've been mainly looking at the KW...
Seeing you can get these in the low 90s practically new its a pretty intriguing option. It's on my list to consider if I am bored of the Supra in ~5 years and feel like burning some money on a car. Exhaust, small drop, some aesthetic tweaks, makes for a pretty great and unique option as long as...
Really appreciate the write-up. Adding this to my list of mods I'll eventually get around to. Probably a good one to pair with replacing the clown horn when I pull off the front bumper. Will keep tabs on future updates in case someone 3d prints a mount or there are recommended front cameras.
No idea on what you should sell it for...just all those pictures has me feeling the need to spend some money. That green wrap and the red seats...definitely on the "eventually" list. Your car looks fantastic.
Also interested to hear what you're thinking of moving to. For me, I don't see myself...
Car looks great and I gotta say feels like a great trade to get the red (sucker for a sports car in an eye catching color), the little refinements, and I will admit I do love alcantara. Congrats!
I don't regret selling my 300zx TT as it would have mainly collected dust the last 15 years, not to mention having to store it. But I'm getting closer to a 3 (or 4?) car garage and it would be really cool to have it parked next to the supra. It was my first true project car built from from being...
Overdue but said I'd update - I did put 5mm spacers on a while back and this did not fix the rubbing on compression. Rubbing is inner top wheel well - noticeable on the liner but visually didn't see any impact to the tire. The reality is I seem to need to be 5-10mm higher in the rear with the...
I'll admit I originally planned/expected to upgrade the turbo soon after paying off the car. The car has now been paid off over a year but more power has dropped in priority. Certainly still on the list but my current order of operations is new truck, coilovers to finish off the suspension mods...
