  1. friend brought me a gift, how accurate is 3D scanning?

Luckily I have access to a makerspace so I wouldn't have to finance anything other than the cost of materials. I have been told that high gloss components are an absolute nightmare for scanners though. Thanks, Toyota. Anyone happen to know if petg is shock resistant? i.e. will self tapping...
  2. friend brought me a gift, how accurate is 3D scanning?

What are the chances I could reliably 3D scan something the size of about a 2"x 3" size? (I know nothing about 3D scanning or printing, for what it's worth.) Detail isn't crazy intricate, its just a mounting piece.
  3. Thoughts on the GR:Corolla ?

The engine is rather limiting. that whole $10,000~ barrier to any meaningful gains is off putting, but honestly I feel like a GR:C would be a solid car at 400-450 whp. My issue I have with my Supra is that everything just feels so effortless. Yeah, first world problem, I know, but I wish there...
  4. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

During my supra search I dealt with some very odd dealers. One in particular would not accept a wire transfer and had the audacity to suggest I go around Manhattan and try to obtain $15,000 worth of money orders. Yeah, no.
  5. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

Don't let your desire to treat yourself sour the experience if at all possible. Yeah, that was annoying and it rubbed you the wrong way, but try to not let that effect the next car (whether a supra or not) that is waiting for you. I'm not saying go in blind and ignore your previous experiences...
  6. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

At this point you are speaking to the wrong people about the refund. Once you aren't actively involved in the purchase process, you aren't a priority for the sales department. Look on the dealerships website and see if they have an 'about us' or 'meet our staff' section. You're going to...
  7. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

I understand them fine. My main reasoning for the comment though was that I'm sure plenty of people will tell people to totally disregard them. Without trying to be pedantic: my point about cost is its a performance car that isn't cheap. Granted cheap can mean different things for different...
  8. Adaptive cruise disabled and asks for subscription 2020 GR Supra

While I love my Supra, one of the biggest gripes I have with the manual models is the lack of radar cruise. I don't even use cruise often, but I think at a car at this price point it should just be standard. Makes me wonder how difficult a retrofit would be on a manual car.
  9. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

This. I might be irritating some people when I say this, and I might be being paranoid, but I find it absurd to not follow the break in period on a car you just spent $57-$60,000+ on. Its in the manual, Toyota put it there for a reason. Why ignore the initial care instructions on one of the...
  10. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

I think part of the issue you were/are running into in that case is mismanaged expectations. Not that you have mismanaged expectations. You are spending north of $60,000 on a car, and I think its prudent for dealer staff to recognize that and plan accordingly. Granted you aren't dropping...
  11. Supra Connect App controls - 2026 Supra Nothing works

I'm going off my experiences from 2023, so it may have changed or it could just be a case of the mandala effect, but the number I found was 1-800-331-4331, which may indeed just route back to a toyota brand engagement center. Either way, I think you might want to try getting to a different...
  12. Extremely weird thing happened to My MT Supra

I will gladly sacrifice 3/10's of a second to be able to control my car and my gears. Some people want every ounce of that speed and that's okay, but I put more value on the engagement myself.
  13. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

My 2023 6MT was delivered I think with 9 miles on it. Pre delivery mileage on the car doesn't automatically in and of itself mean abuse, and I don't have the PDI/PDE information on hand but one should be able to find it pretty easily with a google search. If memory serves, there isn't a whole...
  14. Supra Connect App controls - 2026 Supra Nothing works

Being that the connected services are managed by BMW, the normal Toyota portal doesn't work for it I don't think. In terms of registering your car and the like, and in terms of app functionality. I'm going off of memory here so I may be a bit hazy, but you have to specifically request help...
  15. Supra Connect App controls - 2026 Supra Nothing works

The Supra Connect app is pretty terrible, just putting that out there. But that aside, if your car is a 2026 and premium, it should come standard with connected services or at the very least a trial of it. I can't say with 100% certainty but I don't know how much weight I would put on support...
  16. Thoughts on the GR:Corolla ?

I like the daily engagement, so the GR:C didn't bother me in that regard. My biggest 'annoyances' with it, if you can call them that, are that as a passenger, my legs would sometimes hit the dash since it sticks so far out. That and the "avoid unnecessary acceleration due to temperature"...
  17. Thoughts on the GR:Corolla ?

I've driven a few and its just a bit too slow for me. First gear is short enough to give the impression of torque but even at full throttle in 2nd onwards the car just felt like it wasn't going anywhere. I know it handles well, but for a daily I would want something with a bit more power myself.
  18. Thoughts on the GR:Corolla ?

To state the obvious: this is not a thread inviting direct head to head comparisons between the Supra and the GR:C. I've owned both and can honestly say they do great things, but different great things. For those of you out there who had to pick just the Supra or the GR:C to daily, which would...
  19. Anyone have any insight on the Uniclutch?

Granted it seems like one of those "have your cake and eat it too" scenarios, but it has me wondering. I'm not big on following or taking anything a youtuber or influencer says at face value, but motive garage seems to be main lining those things hard. I think they went from the "street" to...
  20. Went from Supra to Gallardo

part of me wants to say they couldn't include a tether on a car that much? But honestly I think every manufacturer is guilty of stupidity or oversight on trivial things.
