I would like to see pictures of the flywheel/clutch assemblies. I owed one since Fed. with 6k miles on it and I have no problem.
It could be the master or slave cylinder caused the problem. Make sure you have them to check out those components.
If Toyota/BMW gets enough repairs/parts that failed under similar circumstances, their engineers would take look at those failed parts and decide if parts need to be replaced with updated parts.
That's why I asked for pictures, so I/We can tell if the clutch/pressure plate/flywheel has been abused or not. As a technician that works at a dealership, it's my job to figure out what caused components to fail. Not sure how Toyota corporate does their warranty repairs. But for Ford, some...
Only thing I can think of is that, the dealership found that those parts are abused by a customer. You should ask them for pictures, if those parts are ok and have normal wear. Contact toyota customer service and explain to them what's going on.
Check make sure they took off the plastic pieces that inside of the front strut dust boot. I was able to put my hands thru and feel around the dust boosts.
Just bought mine, I need to go back to the dealership so they can finish with pdi. Apparently they need to send your vin number to germany so they can receive the activate code for your car. Btw you have two days to do so. some of features doesn't work atm, like navigation.
It took me 7months to get one (Black premium/MT) . 2k markup, but they gave me 5k off on extended coverage (platinum 10years with 125k miles), other warranties.
