I stumbled on this post when specifically searching how the rear diff changes with VCS off. Anecdotally the rear feels like it has much more rotation in tighter corners, it's even gotten to the point that I now daily it with it turned off.
My first day cold starting the car my wife felt the house rumble and she thankfully was okay with it and now finds it kind of funny, despite it shaking things off the bathroom counter top above the garage.
I did begin starting my car with the garage door closed for my neighbors though...
Just for anyone wondering I'm running the exact exhaust and it sounds absolutely fantastic with mininal drone only around 2300rpm on the highway. Couldn't recommend enough.
Edit: With an AWE downpipe.
Correct. They were originally mounted and balanced by a reputable shop familiar with racing applications. When I double checked all of my clearances originally I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, just metal on metal contact.
Thanks, though.
Spec, 103ft-lbs. The noise started without any adjustment to the wheels or tires after several months of use, but I double checked the torque and reseated the wheels twice so far.
Finally made the time to make a video of it. Very audible, you can see the speed and forces are not anywhere near extreme. Cooler temps appear to make it more noticeable. The parts just arrived, I'll install them sometime this week.
It's a bit tough to hear but it sounds almost identical.
I took the time to change to the OEM wheels and it made no difference.
Thank you all for the excellent thread. I've ordered the friction rings and will update.
Yes, follows wheel RPM. It sounds mechanical, absolutely not tire rub. And the tires have increased in clearance if anything since they've been dailied for 10 months. Clearance is fine. I looked at everything from the break shield, calipers, rotor, and anything else visible in the front end...
I'm writing to both catalog and potentially help someone in the future with this problem.
Around a month ago when driving with the windows down I heard a sound akin to a rock stuck in the tire when accelerating on a tighter on ramp. I go home, look everything over, nothing. I take the car out...
Listen to ColonelAdama, he knows his stuff. He helped me get to pretty good power with 415bhp and 456ftlb. This was during a rain storm with shop doors open, about high 70s, on 93 octane Shell pump gas.
The only thing I don't see often mentioned often in these threads is a different spark plug...
Will do.
Though I'm compelled to ask the million dollar question... why is Map 2 so out of whack and inconsistent? Would running Map 1 help to see if its an additive issue with the JB4/my setup?
After driving for a while I finally found some back roads to do a few pulls after work.
Here are some runs on Map 2 and Map 4.

I'm still trying to interpret all of this to any useful degree, but I feel like...
That is an offer I would love to take you up on in in the not too distant future. In a similar vein, Kershaw is just down the street from me and CMP is a fantastic and beginner friendly track. Our Supras do wonderfully around there. I'm waiting to go back once I iron out this JB4 and finally get...
Catted AA downpipe. Traction control was on, but it did kick in a lot and was in a sandy/dusty industrial area. I think I saw the same boost peak of 27.2 and another later, it seemed it was whenever I suddenly dropped the throttle to 0 from WOT, but I'm probably misreading that.
I'll find some...
Map 2 log here. I didn't read ahead of time and skipped Map 1, hope it's okay.

I don't quite know what I'm looking for yet, but the car felt great. I was foolishly running Circle K 93 octane at the time, but have since filled up at...
You are the fucking man, this is what a car community is about. Not gating this behind $500. Glad to see you here from over on N54. Installing my JB4 today after work.
Do you have a Cash App or something for donations?
So I have an OEM downpipe and exhaust sitting in my garage taking up space. Is there a market for it or should I just keep holding onto it just in case?
Just got a new downpipe. The CAT cells are bent in a couple of places. I assume it's not supposed to be like this, but don't know if I'm just being overly paranoid or if this would warrant a replacement.
