I also have the Z4 springs and eibach front sway on the middle hole. I had it on the hardest setting for a few days but hard cornering made the outside tire hop/slide. Love it it where it is.
That's what I was hoping for too but don't know how they did it. I would love to see others try. Two other guys including the OP only got 610 max on E30 with FX-350 and stock injectors. Any more ethanol maxed them out. Maybe less ethanol and higher octane, I dunno.
Thanks for the update, and sorry for your issues! Hopefully you can get the needed info and see expected improvements. Sounds about the same power as their FX-350 and stock injectors, so any frustration is understandable. Thanks again and best of luck.
Makes sense with the top-mount. I'm not sure what the ID of the entire DP is but it may be worth having a good exhaust guy modify the one you have to 3.5-4". I even have 2' of stainless 3.5" left over from my experiment if you could use it.
Gotcha, don't think it'll do much besides more noise. DAW can get you a 3.5" exit one for a decent price if you reach out to Shawn. Would be worth it in my opinion
If you have a full 3.5-4" DP that goes to a cutout, I can't see why spool and power wouldn't be improved over the restrictive exhaust although we will be guessing what the actual gains are without before/after testing. Remnant shows some great gains with thiers which gives us an idea.
It's my understanding that a couple of other guys didn't trim them and regretted it / cut them. We'd have to dig up the old z4 spring thread to find names.
There are a few full 3.5"+ exhausts out there if you end up going that route. I bought DAWs 3.5" exit catless DP and injen's 3.5" exhaust. Just cut the 3.15 connection end off the exhaust and used a long 3.5" clamp to connect them. Don't have a ton a data to share but was the best option for me.
Mine did not come with bumpstops but did have the "silencers" installed on the rear springs. I cut the bumpstops which sounded better than hitting them on a regular basis. Only minor negative is front camber is-2.1 unless I get camber plates but I'm really happy.
I went with the Z4 euro eibach springs with .8" drop and 275/30 front - 305/30 rear tires and think it's great around town. You could always go with a 35 series sidewall to get a little more clearance.
This is an interesting read. I've been fighting through this. I had 295/35 Cup 2s and 275/35 PSS on the car with TEs a few months ago and it was amazing. Went with 295/35 and then 305/30 Conti Sport 2 and 255/35 PSS (freebies) for the winter and it's 50/50 if the car is good or wants to take a...
