definitely will cause issues if you have any issues with your engine after. My Toyota stealer says as long as whatever you modified isn’t being claimed on warranty for an issue your good.
I’ve tested that a few times too
Whatever is going on it seems to be directly linked to the traction control. If you turn it off it won’t do it at all.
you can turn it back on after a few miles.
Well my only concern that it’s not the breather is that it’s been parked in that garage for a couple months, floor was spotless. You can see the damn patch underneath and where excess has ran in the join of the floor mat.
Hi all,
looks like I’ve got a leaking differential. I know that a lot of people have them weep a bit as they are quite often overfilled from factory and some comes out of the breather…..
but I’ve had mine a little while and it’s been garaged for a few months. Looks like more than a bit too...
Yes I have done that. It has been found that it’s a problem with the ECU talking to the fuel pump in the software or something weird like that. It’s fixed on the Z4 side but not on the Toyota software release….
I had my car updated (as you’ve seen). I’m sad to report that mine has returned…. I’ll be pushing for Toyota to do the update working with BMW as the other user has.
Hi everyone,
had my rear wheels off for a couple of weeks whilst having a refurb. Just went to chuck them back on and it seems my rear brake has seized……
any tips to get it to release? I’ve tried putting it on and off a bunch, tapping each caliper with a bit of wood with no luck. Tried going...
I should probably add, the position it where I park my car and it’s up against a wall and in my space so it’s pretty much where I walkways park
thought as much, seems far too uniform and in the wrong place. Under engine was bone dry. Cheers mate!
Hi everyone,
I have suspicious black liquid drops on both sides of the car. I’m fairly sure it’s oil, but could well be a build up of dirt that’s dripped out. Cars pretty filthy atm as it’s winter here. As you can see in pics there’s drops in a row on both sides of where I park my car.
It’s worth adding that another member was plugged in while this happened and reported that when this issue occurs the car throws an error regarding fuel pump response.
Maybe it’s traction going bonkers and cutting the fuel pump?
it would make sense, as the car doesn’t just straight up refuse...
Sorry your car got wrecked. It may be worth considering buying a built engine if you’re going to slap a new one in. I get it may not be what you’re after though if you’re trying to stay stock or keep costs low.
A forged B58 goes for £6999 here in the uk or £8k fitted. For some reason they’ve...
Hi everyone, you may find this interesting. I have had the latest update from Toyota for this and it reduced the issue significantly but still comes back once in a blue moon as others have reported.
However @Crimzon_Skyz gave some interesting information. You can read the thread here...
Yeah it sounds like bmw sent over the individual update for each module.
very interesting, I’ll also be chasing this further. Hopefully pushes a proper update out sooner.
When the tech did mine he did raise all modules/iLevel but then I suppose that does not really matter if you have had a Z4 update installed from BMW. (If I have read that correctly).
That’s a shame you noticed other changes, it makes me wonder is specifically for the brightness you’d have to be...
great update, thanks for replying. I wanted to add that for my vehicle I did experience the hesitation the other day briefly but only for a second. It has been a while and previously the car would be having this issue for a few minutes of driving. Seems once and done now so it’s definitely...
So I did the entire cars iLevel which as far as I’m aware updates all modules rather than individually.
I’m hoping to order a bimmergeeks dongle tomorrow so I’ll find out for you soon.
