Oh dang! I remember you from ft86forum lol
Good to see you here at the SupraMKV forum as well!
Nice comparison you posted there. I only test drove M2C with DCT and I agree with most of the points in your comparison.
Now I kinda want to test drive M2C with manual cuz I don't remember anyone...
This is exactly what happened with BMW X3M40i.
2019 models had 355hp but had great exhaust notes.
2020 models got same hp bump as 2021 Supra to 382hp but lost all the pops and burble and people on x3 bimmerpost forum had same debate that we did here.
Of course some people were pissed on that...
Considering acceleration times posted by Car and Driver review, I have a feeling that US Supras are already equipped with 382hp engine without the particulate filter despite the fact that Toyota is advertising that the car has 335hp.
Just look at Alfa Stelvio Quadrifoglio and its spec.
About same weight and same HP as X3M. 3.4 sec 0-60 mph.
And also X3 M40i does 0-60 mph in 4.4 sec.
With the power rated at 355hp. X3M has over 100 hp advantage and does 0-60 mph in 4.1 sec?
That's way too low.
It would be great if Toyota could get this engine but at the same time, I think Toyota would rather have their own version of high spec B58 instead of just using S58.
Hereās AutogefĆ¼hl review of X3 and X4M.
According to the review, these cars will to 4.1 or 4.2 sec in 0-60 mph which is what...
1. Will you buy the 2020 Supra as soon as you can? Or will you wait for the 2021? (Or later)
Planning on getting 2022 MY as I have other priorities at the moment.
2. What color combination will you get?
Yellow. And hopefully a yellow special edition with yellow interior accents if that ever...
The criticisms are understandable.
But what I don't understand is how hard all the car enthusiasts are trying to generalize that MKV Supra is bad not because the actual car is bad, but simply because it's a collaboration between Toyota and BMW.
The argument that went on on this thread has been...
S55s are based off of N55. B58 is definitely an improvement over N55 design so I'm not even sure if this issue is related to B58.
And my brother never had a single issue with his M4 with a tune while he had it.
Honestly, Iād love to have that keyfob than what Toyota currently has for other common Toyota or even Lexus keyfob. I was very impressed at my friendās 2018 540i keyfob and Toyota is using exactly that for Supra. Much more luxury and premium looking and feeling keyfob than any current Toyota and...
I see your point. Especially if you had many turbo cars before, 86 is definitely underwhelming in its general usage.
I was happy with my 86 when I had it because it handled so well and I had plenty of backroads to enjoy around where I live.
Only reason why I sold my FR-S was because my commute...
LMAO. Let me ask you something:
Do YOU know when they had their focus group?
Do you know when BMW decided that there will be no manual transmission?
And again when did the focus group for all this transmission talk happened?
You should answer your own questions.
I was blown away by the exterior design despite seeing all the renderings and leaks way before, but I was very sad when they put subwoofers in the rear instead of rear seats.
Having a rear seat is pretty serious requirement for me, but maybe I can overlook that when the production models hit the...
Well, I stopped caring about engine sound amplified through speakers in cabin.
When I first had my experience with soundaktor in Audi/VAG cars, I was frustrated that there is a speaker that makes engine sound inside the cabin, but after I realized that the car sounded just as good from outside...
Thanks for the interview and all the info, Guff!
I personally think this joint project is very interesting not only as a Toyota or BMW enthusiast but generally as a sports car enthusiast.
Two companies that makes or made one of the greatest inline-6 engines and sports cars collaborated together...
