  1. Scripps Ranch, San Diego cars & coffee, this morning

This is a short video (2 minutes) about the cars and people who participated.
  2. Supra vs. all the other cars I've personally owned

I've driven some nice cars: 2019 McLaren 570S Spider 2020 Porsche 911 4S cabriolet 2018 Lexus LC500 2015 BMW i8 2015 and 2022 Corvettes Ferrari 488 GTB (track, only) While I can't say my GR Supra outperforms them all, it is by far the best car I've ever owned. The McLaren was the fastest and...
  3. San Diego County Del Dios Highway cruise and Twin Peaks for panoramic views

    Amazing views at the end
  4. A/C not blowing air and heated seats not working

Some of this may help: Given that the A/C blower and both heated seats failed at exactly the same time, I would actually be less suspicious of the blower motor itself and more suspicious of a shared power, LIN-bus, or HVAC control issue. The fault code is very telling: On BMW-based platforms...
  5. Point Loma, San Diego Cars & Coffee, today

Lots of interesting cars. Here's the video:
  6. CF Factory Spoiler - Seal Pushed Out & Dealer Clueless

I guess I was lucky, as each time, I waited for only 2 -3 hours at the dealership for the work to get done.
  7. CF Factory Spoiler - Seal Pushed Out & Dealer Clueless

Some Toyota dealerships have autobody shops attached or close by. I had to have the Toyota emblem in the front replaced, so the dealership took my car to the local Toyota Collision Center to have it done. The Toyota emblem in the back had to be swapped, also because someone thought that the red...
  8. Losing oil, smoke only on idle

Hopefully, that is not common......or is it?
  9. Another Elite Finish C&C (Nascar theme)

As some of you know, NASCAR races were happening this weekend in downtown San Diego. I didn't get to go, but I did go to this c&c near the Miramar air base. Since my prior focus at previous c&cs at Elite Finish had been the cars, I made this one somewhat brief and more about the crowds that...
  10. Losing oil, smoke only on idle

Fix/verify PCV system properly (don’t skip this) Confirm crankcase vacuum is present Only then worry about turbo/exhaust It seems that the PCV is a fairly common failure point, and there should likely be slight vacuum at idle. Another possible contribution is reduced backpressure from the...
  11. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

When I canceled my deposit on a Lotus Emira, (1 year before they were available in the US) I received the $2500 within two days. That was a dealership that is 80 miles away, so I am glad they did it so quickly. Most likely, there were plenty of other reservists on the list. When I did have an...
  12. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

Yes. Anyone who disagrees with the need for break-n should watch this video:
  13. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

The break-in requirement is for 1200 miles. Max engine speed is 4500 rpm and steady highway speeds are no-nos.
  14. Dealership Joy Ride Shenanigans?

12 miles on my car. It had been at the dealership for 2 days before I went there to pick it up.
  15. New Car/Supra Owner need advice.

There are, but they are not numerous at all.
  16. New Car/Supra Owner need advice.

He didn't mention which state he lives in but here in CA, the highest octane is 91. I'm not sure if a JB4 or Dinan piggyback will be worth the cost.
  17. Excellent Cars and Brew event in San Diego, yesterday

...not far from the Miramar Air Base. This had to be the third time I've been to an Elite Finish event, only this one was in the late afternoon/early evening. The crowd was huge and the cars were amazing, as usual. Check out my video when you have a chance.
  18. Custom Exhaust Question - GR Supra Exhaust

Talk about a high-drone exhaust. I like the fact that I can eliminate drone on the highway, just by switching to Normal mode.
  19. Trunk rattle

    I believe it.
