Thank you for this! It confirms what was suspected, that it's just the exhaust that's different to to the US spec. Also glad to know that you can get some decent sound out of the manual. Most of the videos online show the manual models as sounding pretty ordinary.

Sounds like I'll need to go the path of an independently controlled valve on an aftermarket exhaust of some sort. I saw a product that allows you to trigger the exhaust valve using the buttons on the mirror, so no messy extra key fobs. This might be an option with other valve/exhaust systems...

I guess this is where something like the XForce Varex and Smartbox system would come into it's own. It would remove valve control functionality from the ECU and allow for direct control via Bluetooth. No need to mess with the ECU or add additional warranty issue risks either.

I have this in another car and most of the time my passengers drag their dirty shoes across the lower inside of the door when getting in and out, whereas I take more care. Same goes for sweaty arms on armrests etc, so i don't mind that the passenger side is darker.

Has anyone installed matte PPF on their AZ white car? I've got a AZ car arriving sometime this century and I'm contemplating going matte PPF. Would be good to see some pics of it in the sunlight if there are any around.

If you simply can't wait any longer there is a brand new Red Manual with Black leather sitting in the Wollongong dealership. It's sitting in amongst all the dealers desks like it's in a gilded cage while all the 'lesser' Toyotas sit outside in the rain. Pretty sure it's not a demonstrator either...
