It self-righted AFTER the engine actually restarted. It does not correct itself as long as the engine doesn't crank. Until I got it to restart, the gauge still showed 2 bars of fuel in the tank. Once it restarted it went to zero bars.
This doesn't apply to me, mine happened because a fuel line...
I definitely will be! FWIW the moment the engine turned over the gauge immediately registered as empty and threw the reserve light on, and when I went to fill it up, it went to 100%.
I don’t know enough yet about these electronics to explain it, but it certainly seems like it only wants to...
Ok, so I’m a little embarrased on this, but actually I am not embarrassed at all because I didn’t have a way to know without guessing.
It turns out that the car was out of gas. I had absolutely no way of knowing this because the gas gauge still said that I had three bars of gas, not even on...
I just pulled all the lines and sure enough it is not getting any fuel through the main line that comes in via the rear of the driver’s side of the engine. .
I’ve checked all the fuses related to fuel and engine in the rear fuse compartment. and they all test out exactly as they should...
Was replaced with components from Visconti to install the ethanol sensor. Just an adaptor and the sensor.
It ran with those in place for a few days, so it shouldn’t be that.
So I finally got the car towed home and I still can’t get it to start. It is definitely a fuel issue, and I do not have any DTCs of any kind. It just won’t start despite repeated attempts.
Can anyone tell me how to get some fuel in the line?? Surely there’s something obvious that I am missing.
I was driving on the interstate yesterday and ended up on the side of the road dead and needing a tow home. I was off and on the throttle, just enjoying the acceleration occasionally. On one hard pull I felt a hesitation from the engine at high RPMs, but the car continued to run. A little later...
IMHO it’s well worth a few hundred bucks to pay a remote company to update your head unit unless your car is brand new. Updating mine (2020) changed everything for the better.
Unless you are running 20+” wheels, the PS5s aren’t a thing.
I live in CLT. Unless you’re an unnecessarily aggressive driver, you’ll be ok on quality tires. All seasons would definitely be better when it’s cold and wet, but you can survive.
Serious question from a new Supra owner here, relevant to this topic:
I bought the car in November and it has a minimal amount of performance mods but I can tell that the prior owners (2) were enthusiasts. It's set up to look good, but definitely not perform at peak. I know it is tuned from...
Can someone help me with what the Supra Normal mode is for me to switch back to? I’ve watched a few videos and read a few threads and everyone talks about how to get to sport mode but doesn’t say what the default is.
Here are the options:
Except I did read it, it starts on page 266 and goes into the mid 280s, and it doesn't go into detail about the recommended display for non-standard tires.
It says to select the other tires, which I did.
It says to run the reset, which I did.
Then it says that it the system will accept that...
st00pid n00b question, please:
I just bought my car and it always starts in sport mode; I’d rather select that for myself. Where are these settings (start mode, tranny mode, steering mode) you are all referring to, or is that in the tuning?
Mine is tuned by Visconti on EcuTek and I haven’t yet...
