yeah I just really wanted to double check I got the right hardware, but even after that I think I am gonna go for the bigger washer - thanks for helping me out with that picture!
Yeah thatās it, I find it a bit sketchy that the washer outter diameter is about 5mm smaller than the OEM one⦠it barely covers the hole imo⦠š¬
I think itās common for M cars to have a metal brace mount that sits against the strut tower and these screws would install over, but the Supra does...
nice! I just got a set of these plates in the mail from Hinz Motorsport (they are a US distributor for Suspension Secrets) - I am looking forward to installing these!
did you used the supplied bolts and washers? They seem quite smaller than the OEM mounting hardware, so much so that itās making...
I sent mine in to Verus for warranty repair and they replaced the bearings, the new bearings are A LOT tighter in there - the old ones I could move around by hand... I haven't re-installed them yet because it is hot as hell in TX right now, but will try them this fall.
yeah that sucks - I feel the same way and I only bought one set, this is the thing is when it comes to modding, you could have went the expensive route and still had a shitty experience with lower control arms being defective.
did you by any change remove the camber adjustment screws at some...
why go through so much trouble? you could just buy verkline front lower adjustable arms https://verkline.com/products/front-lower-adjustable-control-arms-toyota-supra-a90-a91
I was going to replace the thrust bushing to rule it out as the source of the noise, but I couldn't find a part number that I was certain would fit. I will say my car makes no noise when I wiggle the steering wheel back and forth... I have some spring binding pop (very subtle) when going full...
Yeah, it may be a waste of time to loctite or triple check these, but this is the only part I thought could be causing my clunking problem, however it still didnāt stop the noise when I tried it.
I ran out of ideas and just went back to stock.
ah! Never knew thatās what itās called!
I think the issue is the 4 four screws that mount the plate to the car can back out when you torque the top 4 nuts⦠but I even put loctite on them and it didnāt help so idk
Iām not messing with these no more
Here is what I think happens, I can't prove it, but I have a strong suspicion this is the reason they clunk:
The 4 screws that go thru the camber plates and secure the plates to the car can back out while being torqued on the top. If you look up in your pictures you can see them:
What I tried...
I worry about stripping the center torx hole thingamajig so I also sent it raw with the impact, but no improvement.
I am happy to report that after going back to stock mounts the problem is solved - I've spent SOOO MANY HOURS messing with these camber plates, making sure they were installed...
I reached out to verus and they've sent me the spec for the sleeve and the inner bearing diameter so I will check to make sure the play is to spec on Wednesday when I am off from work.
I will also test the X pattern as I don't recall doing it, I do usually use some sort of cross pattern...
It's not on, I am just testing the fitment between sleeve and the bearing, I didn't wiggle test it with the top nut installed, maybe I should do that??
I checked everything like 15 times already and I am just getting ready to go back to stock mounts, see my videos here https://www.supramkv.com/threads/new-rattle-please-help.38074/
The play is between the little slip on sleeve and the bearing, I checked everything was tight a million times, I even put locktite on the screws that come up the mounting location because they can back out as you tighten the mount to the car. I will be removing these next weekend and going back...
