I ended up at about an 1/8th also. I will back it off a hair next time the car is in the air, but in the meantime it feels way better. Just a touch to tight
There’s a ton of variables at play here. In the paint line we use at work refraction only has one variant. With that said it could be bad mix, incorrect air pressure lightens and darken colors, to dark of an undercoat, and/or cheap clear.
No you won’t be able to get back to the old paint. Unfortunately a partial refinish is destined to fail anyways unless it was fully cleared. In which case the sides would be darker as well, as clear does very slightly change color.
Truthfully, I would try and find an experienced detailer in your area and ask them sand and buff it. If you keep piling material on it’s gonna get chewier and chewier. Unless of course it’s color, than by all means, respray.
Agreed. Call it comfy, call it sloppy, call it what you will. At the end of the day the average consumer will never notice flaws in the paint or panel gaps. My truck is littered with dirt nibs, and i bought it clean off the truck. My wife's Acadia rear applique looks like one it was painted by...
I tried to rope these guys for part numbers earlier, and they weren't budging. To be honest id rather it spray it myself. Nothing against anyone, but being in the industry ruins a lot of things for me.
I paint as a full time job, our scrap yards are far and few especially with newer vehicles, and don't really want to have any downtime with the car if possible. However, its looking that way if i cant figure it out. The real downfall is, if i paint it i cant ppf it right away and lets face it...
Ive been wanted to replace my bumper since its absolutely blasted with stone chips. This time around i intend to ppf the bumper. Anyways, Ive been calling all my local dealers in search of a front bumper and these guy all have conflicting information. That being said i have a 2022 3.0 base...
