If you're suggesting I advocate tearing it apart and throwing random parts at it with fingers crossed, no.
In my n=1 experience with a Scirocco looooong ago, this kind of behavior was due to a worn synchro. I believe there are ways of checking this, something along the lines of how you use the...
I can't see Verstappen and Kimi together. Verstappen would need to be the leader of a team, and Kimi's way ahead in points over any other driver, so how would you choose between them? I guess for Toto it could be a dream team but I still don't see it.
I wouldn't see McLaren taking Max, I guess you could argue he has more raw talent than Norris or Piastri but typing at a keyboard here this morning I'm going with - nope.
Lewis / Charles is interesting. Lewis has far more experience and wins, obviously, I'd expect them to consider him as the...
OK, stating the obvious, that's FAST. I haven't partaken in that kind of racing in ugh likd 20 years but I remember how blazing fast an 11 second run seemed to be, or anything even into the 10's (9's and 8's were like "Funny car" territory at the time). Congrats!
I was kind of surprised in the post race interviews that Russel wasn't pissed off at Hamilton for basically knocking him out. Kimi on top again is amazing, so recently the questions were if he was old enough to handle it, and that answer is definitely yeah. I still can hardly believe how often...
If the lip of the wheel is wider than the bulk of the tire, it can be that it actually catches on the edge of the pothole itself. No amount of air will save that.
I bent 2 wheels on an Eclipse a long time ago, it was a highway on ramp waiting for the light to change. They had just installed the...
Max has been discussed here a lot. I'd bet the truth is in the middle - he's a little more (fill in the blank) than most, but not nearly as much as reported. Gotta respect him either way.
I don't have any subscriptions to watch races but tend to keep up online when they're running. Nothing this...
And if it's the spherical bearing itself, then... you're sort of stuck with it. Trying to think of a way to test that... Mount a camera and go for a drive over some bumps? Easier said than done of course. Drive over a 2x4 in the driveway a few times so you can do something with the hood up.
I've kind of gotten to where - since I replace brakes so rarely, and I save so much money DIY'ing it, why not spend the few extra $'s on new bolts "just in case" they are right about them. I don't advocate pissing away money for no reason, but occasionally I subscribe to the "just in case" theory.
It's where I had this once, long ago. Replaced struts on an Eclipse, tightened everything, had some clunking. The strut top nut was "tight" because it ran out of threads but wasn't actually tight to the top plate itself. I put basically a thin bushing in it and solved it, ID just fit over the...
Couple ideas, if they aren't terrible and give something to think about:
* Did the additional camber bring any 2 components closer together such that they hit each other? Something you might not see if you've got the car up in such a way that the wheel is unloaded and the suspension is...
I know, I have one. I'm saying *if* it were a sticker, I'd have peeled it off. Given how embedded it is, and that 3 coats of paint later it still shows, means it wasn't worth the work put in (which is why I haven't put the work in). Sorry I wasn't clear.
Wow, it's not that bad. No one will see it anyways. I'd peel off a sticker, but 3 coats of paint for it to still be visible?
We all have our preferences, I guess.
I've gotten into it elsewhere, and admit it could be placebo, but I feel like removing the CDV eliminated the sense of it slipping just a little. Instead of my foot controlling how quickly I let out the clutch, and requiring me to make that be smooth with the gas and etc., there was a sense of a...
I like their pedal a lot, I'm not sure if I noticed a throw change, though the link locations are slightly different and there likely was one. I definitely noticed a change to the pedal placement, more in line with the brake, which was huge for me as it was what I was used to coming out of a...
Agreeing that, though there could be a variety of causes, the simplest thing to check is if you've got a leak or obvious air in the system.
Check the reservoir over top of the brake booster, it feeds the clutch line as well. Is it low? If so, you've at least determined why. Next question will...
