Don’t expect a night and day difference from removing the OPF alone. Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice sound, better than stock 100%, but won’t be head-turning (imo this is how it should sound stock)
If you want it to be even louder with obnoxious bangs you definitely have to go catless also.
Long story short, yes. Unless you unlock the ecu and tune it to remove the CEL.
I went for the femto unlock, bootmod3 tune, and scorpion mid-pipe (opf delete).
I just came back from my mechanic garage, my experience with this adjustment:
- 1/16 turn clockwise (tighten): steering felt a bit tighter (similar to switching from comfort to sport), steering response felt the same
- 1/8 turn clockwise (tighten): car was undriveable
- I would say less than...
After more investigations, I came to the conclusion that they are not worth it. What I found out is that Polyurethane bushings generally tend to squeak after some time and need greasing, and even worse they may create suspension binding (search google for more info) when placed on suspension...
I came across these polyurethane bushings from Powerflex, which have a slighty offset stainless-steel sleeve to offer some adjustablity for camber/caster.
Anyone have some experience with these? How would these compare to let's say some Millway Monoballs, considering they are a fraction of the...
I just looked into them and found an EU dealer, nice
I’m curious, a lot of people are recommending pads only, so I’m assuming the OE rotors are actually good enough in my case? Will they be able to handle the extra bite from the aftermarket pads?
? Well to be fair I did specify what I’m looking for, and clearly some old grumpy men criticising me for how I choose to use my car (wtf btw) is not one of them
P.S. I love your posts and was hoping you’d help me on this one, you grumpy cheeto loving genius
Seeing that you live in a hot climate with good roads I can understand why these circuit-marketed pads worked for you. I am a little sceptical they would fit my needs though, as it gets pretty cold and wet where I live, and to my understanding those pads need some heat in them in order to...
You taking a portion of your day and making the time to enter this forum, read this whole thread, only to come out with this response shows how greatly intelligent you really are. Your parents must’ve loved you so much they gave you an extra chromosome.
Anyway, keep your filthy cheetos filled...
The time has come for me to change the brake discs and pads on my GR, and it might be the perfect opportunity to upgrade to better brakes.
I use the car as a daily, I never plan on tracking it, but I do drive pretty hard ( a lot of highway braking & mountain roads ) in all weather conditions (...
Does your car behave the same? Steering wheel feels heavy, and sticky to return to the center after letting go of the steering wheel. Also, when steering left and letting go, it doesn’t fully return to the center, it stays slightly to the left. Completely stock Z4 m40i.
Very disappointed by the...
