Have you heard about anything regarding transmissions also being put under stress due to constant shifting? It’s cool to see how rapidly the gears shift up and down but I just wonder if the constant switching has an effect as opposed to utilizing fewer gears.
This is going to sound silly but is either mode better for the engine in the long run? I actually enjoy driving in normal mode, although sport is obviously more thrilling.

these are supposedly stock rims and tires for the 2023 Supra. I’m assuming they’ll fit on my 2020?
Gotcha. Thanks for your help as well as everyone who chimed in on this post. Is this something they should have caught at inspection? I’m no expert but I feel like a car with 10k miles and no accidents that produces smoke from the engine the day of purchase had to not have been thoroughly inspected.
Yea I’m so glad your suspicions were based. I drove about 150 miles after the car was initially smoking. If damage to the engine was done, is there a way to tell to what extent? Should I be asking them to check certain things?
I brought it into a nearby Toyota service center and that’s what they initially told me but I just spoke to them again and they apologized and reassured me it’s just a cracked valve cover. Please tell me this is a much more minor issue
Yea I guess warranty and modding is contradictory but I was gonna run it for about a year or two to see how things go before modding. 5 years is probably longer than I should’ve got but it is bumper to bumper so maybe it’ll come in handy in other parts of the car.
I appreciate the optimism but everyone else has had a very different opinion…I also got the car because of mod potential but I’d be extremely reluctant to do that now due to potentially voiding the warranty. You wouldn’t be worried about the integrity of the engine in my situation?
The dealership provided me with a clean carfax. Is there a way to check whether major issues were covered up besides taking it to a good mechanic? Also is there a way to confirm the mileage on this?
Jesus Christ, I was really hoping for milder responses…I guess the head gasket is a sign of major issue? They had an exchange policy of 150 miles or 3 days. Someone else said I should sue if they don’t let me return…I’m kind of freaking out right now. Does anyone have any experience with this...
I’m having my mechanic take a look today. I keep having people tell me it’s likely not a big deal…Is this not a big red flag? Even if it’s not a major issue is this engine not showing signs of unreliability at an early stage?
I just today picked up my 2020 Supra (supposedly stock), 1 owner, and only 10k miles. I drove home for 3.5 hours with a big smile on my face from the dealer with no issues at all. I parked at my friend's place to pick him up for a ride but when I put it in park and revved the engine for a few...
