  1. Best Suspension Setup Balance for Street, HPDE & Occasional Autocross?

There isn't a single solution that's going to work well for all of those. The closer to comfortable on the street will shy away from working well in a motorsports environment and the closer to fast on track will move away from comfortable on the street. Yes, there are hybrid solutions, but...
  2. Went from Supra to Gallardo

Glad to see the thread recover and become about automotive enthusiasm vs being a dick for no reason. It's enjoyable to see people be happy about their car purchases. Any time someone gets to buy (one of) their dream car(s) it's a good day.
  3. For manuals; is it better to do burnouts in 1st or 2nd gear at the drag strip?

The answer is the same no matter what transmission you have. Do your burnouts in 1st. The second modulation/brakes question is one I'd suggest finding a very secluded parking lot and practicing.
  4. Hyperfest 2026

I think I mentioned it in PM, but I won't be there. I will be at the CMP TT with SCCA in June though.
  5. Brake pad recommendations?

There are anecdotes about several OEM's using pads that were very similar to the DS2500, and lots of stories about people able to use OEM pads to get through a session or two as well. As mentioned, Brembo makes the OEM Supra pad. They've had some pretty good compounds lately since I know the...
  6. 275 tires and 18x11 vs 18x10 wheel fitment on stock shocks

The newer ones still have adhesive (mine is a 2026 and had it), but I imagine the lower amount of miles/time means it's less hateful.
  7. Brake pad recommendations?

I’ve left them on for over a month now and they’re quiet for the most part. More quiet than the Pagid’s were. If they stay this quiet I might not need to go back to the stock pads this winter.

I mount/balance all my own tires, and there's a pretty direct correlation to amount of lube used and amount the tire will slip. The RS and RZ are both somewhat stiff tires so if the shop had trouble mounting them they may have used more lube. Nothing bad, and not much you can do about it other...

I didn't when I swapped them in. That said, I had some shudder in the first session when I went to VIR last month. I had tried doing some basic pad bedding before, but evidently didn't get enough heat through them on the street to do a clean/bed. I had gone from Pagid to stock to PMU 999's...
  10. 275 tires and 18x11 vs 18x10 wheel fitment on stock shocks

This. -3.6 with zero toe front works for me, but if I could I'd run -4. I will say I might go down from -2.5 and .2 degrees of toe in per side rear to -2.2ish and .1ish degree of toe in per side. The wear on the tires from VIR showed I wasn't using the rears as much as I should have, so I'd...
  11. 275 tires and 18x11 vs 18x10 wheel fitment on stock shocks

No, as stated I have stock arms. When I installed the plates I push them in until I can feel the top hat rubbing on the shock tower, then very lightly pull it back until it doesn't rub. Like DC5UPRA said, it is likely due to camber gain from the lowering springs. As an anecdote, I got a...
  12. 275 tires and 18x11 vs 18x10 wheel fitment on stock shocks

I really enjoy the stock shocks for what they are. My setup is just Verus camber plates, H&R lowering springs, and a front bar. Everything else suspension wise is stock regarding arms and links. That setup is good for -3.6 ish front and -2.5 rear while hitting the toe I want. It hasn't...
  13. 275 tires and 18x11 vs 18x10 wheel fitment on stock shocks

They may come from the same place (what doesn't these days?), but are a bit different since they use an allen socket to tighten them down vs the motorsports hardware that uses a double nut. Either way, mine didn't have burrs on them and the threads were fine. Other than cleaning them of any...
  14. 275 tires and 18x11 vs 18x10 wheel fitment on stock shocks

I liked it a lot and felt like it calmed the car down for mid-corner throttle application. I did a full write up of my test day here: https://www.supramkv.com/threads/race-tracking-your-supra-information-exchange.16389/page-295#post-556913 The important bit (assuming you don't want to read...
  15. 275 tires and 18x11 vs 18x10 wheel fitment on stock shocks

For wheel studs, I bought the Apex ones when they were on sale last year. They've held up just fine for the 20 or so wheel changes the car has seen since then along with 6 track days. I also found the 275 square to be pretty lively, both on stock tune and with the MHD stage 1 tune. Still very...

    Both were VIR Full Course.

The 93 tune was fine in terms of temps (120-130 on the logging app) until ambient went over the low 70's, with boost targeting 16 psi. The E40 map with it's high target definitely dumped a lot more heat in. I expect when it hits summer here that I'll have to monitor the temps a lot more on the...

I ran a small tire and tune test for fun this past weekend at VIR. First two sessions I ran 275/40/18 square Yok A052's both on an MHD Stage 1 93 tune. Then I swapped to staggered 71RZ's, same tune. Finally I swapped to E40 on the staggered RZ's. The RZ's were 275/35/18 front and 295/35/18...
  19. **Official Lap Times Thread**

Got to run with NASA this past Saturday at VIR again. Sadly, no clean laps, and the best lap was the first not even flying lap during the last session of the day. Was able to set a new PB of 2:03.5. The Garmin said a 2:02.2 was optimal, but I think without traffic I could get to a 2:01.X...
  20. 275 tires and 18x11 vs 18x10 wheel fitment on stock shocks

I got to drive WWT last year during One Lap, and was also happily surprised at how fun it was. I've driven Charlotte Motor Speedway and Nashville Super Speedway so I wasn't expecting it to be as fun as those, but I think I'd at least rate WWT as good as NSS, if not slightly better.
