From everything I have read and my personal experience Toyota is taking ownership of this problem and taking care of their customers. You won't need a lawyer if you can negotiate with you local dealer.

Actually when I saw your posts from so long ago, I decided to go and talk to the Sales General Manager. I believe it helped to speed up the process. My rep from Toyota specifically told the the general manager had called him directly and asked for the case to be sped up.

I paid $500 over invoice and all extra fees like doc fees were waived. Total process took 77 days from the day I took it in.

I have the exact same problem with the passenger side front light. Took it is today and the manager tells me that it is the 1st Supra they are servicing. They told me 3 days to wait on parts but based on this thread it may take way longer. Not sure I can drive a loaner Corolla for too long.
