Why would unveil make sense in March 2018 if they won''t sell the car until, lets guess, April 2019?
It is just too early IMHO.
With 86/BRZ:
Dec 2011 - production unveil in Tokyo
Feb 2012 - assembled first cars
April 2012 -first deliveries to customers
If they use the same timeline with the...
Best chance we have it being a manual is if BMW uses ZF S6-53 for their twin. That appears to be capable of up to 600Nm while the best Getrag is 550Nm.
Then use of an auto ZF 8HP also makes sense - ZF as the single supplier.
All this talk about changing Toyota's mind now - pretty sure that the...
LOL, you clearly then never had a pleasure of dealing with it's legendary oiling performance.
Just to clarify - love the RB..in it's forged, stroked and sorted out form.
For anybody that ever dealt with the stock RB26 this BMW based engine will be a huge improvement. From what we an see, closed deck, 3L and sorted out oiling haha - this will be unreal. Thinking that the legendary GT-Rs were in the 1550kg range with a 2.6L this Supra will be a legend...if it...
I reckon petition is nice, singed and all, but to be honest Toyota is not silly. They see what is happening with the Porsche, namely the 991.2 GT3. They can see how much interest that has garnered just by offering the manual option for the people that want it.
If they truly think of themselves...
Meanwhile in Australia (all prices drive-away, all taxes and rego paid).
86 GT manual = $35.5k
86 GTS manual = $41.5k
Mustang 4cyl = $55k
Mustang GT MY18 = $67k
370Z NISMO = $69.3k
Z4 - appears to have been in the low 90K range
Tada-San says Supra is suppose to be affordable - then I guess...
After that image of the race car with 3-pedals. Relax, we are getting a manual.
I know that manual box is the only way I'll be buying this, since 2 seater and usefulness has gone out the window.
I'd be shocked if they engine is a pure run of the mill B48/B58. It will be like it was for the 86/BRZ - joint development, with Toyota bits and pieces integrated into the powerplant and off course with the Toyota engineering seal of approval.
Been watching this video some more : that spin that starts at 1:42 - it appears that rear tyres start free spinning rearward as the car starts rolling back when the driver release the brakes, and then they lock up again when he presses the brake some more. Would this be quite unusual for an...
