  1. Members from Ohio, please come in!

Nice! Same as I did, ToyotaDirect + an Absolute Zero, I'm just a '20. I actually need to get my first free oil change there or whatever comes with ToyotaCare here soon, the car's getting angry with me. I've seen literally 0 in Columbus since they came out, so if you see another AZ rolling...
  2. Members from Ohio, please come in!

The only Supra I've seen on the road in Ohio is the one I see in my reflection in shop fronts when I drive by. Since February! I have seen 2 Z4s, though.

I'm not optimistic but I'm never optimistic about winter, lol. I just need one relatively dry, not-super-frigid day every 10 days or so, so I can take mine out for a 30m drive or so and keep things moving. I will say if I was daily driving my Supra I'd 100% be trying to find a big empty...
  4. Supra Happy Anniversary! Thoughts and km? / 1st Year Ownership Impressions

Maybe it's because I don't daily drive mine and it sits in a garage, but I tend to enjoy the attention. Way more often than not, when I go to the grocery I'll park it in the back where it's pretty visible from the road, and end up with some kid (either like a 12 year old with their parents...
  5. Is 50F too cold for the Michelin summer tire?

I got stuck with my other car in the shop last winter not long after I got my Supra, and had to take it to work in like, 40 degree weather and some rain for two or three days. Drive carefully and it isn't a huge issue - you just have to understand there's not much grip there, because the tires...
  6. Which electric pressure washer?

I just got an SPX3500 like, two days ago, so once I finally get around to using it on a car (it's more for the siding/patio but hey, if you can "justify" getting extra car toys by pretending it's for something else...). Feels beefy when I put it together, at least. Assembly was really easy...
  7. Should I wait for 2021?

To the depreciation point, I don't think 2021s are going to depreciate any slower, at least than a normal BMW. I also agree that the 2.0 is going to help keep the 2020s above a certain floor, because why buy a used 2021 4 cyl when you can pay an extra $1-2k and get a 2020 3.0? So that's likely...
  8. Past BMW owners jumping ship to go Supra?

Yeah, I still have my '09 335i, which I love. As was mentioned earlier, I actually viewed the BMW collaboration as a positive, since I knew what I was getting into. Relearning what chimes and bings meant what and how to use the infotainment sounded annoying, so big plus to just keep it in the...
  9. Totaled or nah?

Yeah, that sucks to hear, sorry about your luck. But... you're fine and everyone's fine, and that's it's own sort of luck. Cars are replaceable. We aren't.

My impression was that they developed the B58B30C for the worldwide market first and then once the car was on sale, deal with emissions testing and release the B58M30O1 for the markets in which that engine would pass emissions. It isn't like they had some ulterior motive - I'd be a solid $20...
  11. Did anyone cross-shop the Supra against BMWs?

Yeah, I looked at the M240i/M2, along with the M3 and G20 M340i (I very much thought I was going to get a 4dr car - also looked at the S4 and Alfa Quadrifoglio). Coming from an E92, what really made up my mind was I wanted more than just an incremental evolution of the N54/N55/S55, since I...
  12. 2021 Toyota Supra 3.0 Dyno Results

Definitely my biggest concern too. I've never kept a car stock. Maybe one of the tuners around here can fill us in a bit on their plans/what the differences are, and if this'll make any difference in support long-term.
  13. 2021 Toyota Supra 3.0 Dyno Results

Honestly, I don't actually believe Toyota views any of us Supra owners as long-term Toyota buyers (unless we were before this). So I don't know why they'd be too worried about that. The Supra, as a halo car, is more for the image for *other* buyers, I think.
  14. 2021 Toyota Supra 3.0 Dyno Results

Yeah. Precedent is going to be *awful* on that. Plus, Toyota has our money already. Why should they spend a few million researching upgrades for us? Where's the business case? There's what, a few thousand Supra owners in the US right now - if you assume this means an additional 10% of...
  15. 2021 Toyota Supra 3.0 Dyno Results

The problem with this is, define "reflash." Unless it comes specifically from Toyota, how do you warranty that? How do you determine what flashes are covered, which ones aren't? How do you determine which tuners are covered? How do you figure out what's acceptable in a flash and what's not...
  16. Spraying Water Locks Door When Washing Car

Is it the force or the heat differential? I haven't messed with it but you don't actually need to put any pressure on it, which leads me to believe it's not specifically pressure-triggered. And I've had it trigger when just running water was going down the side of the car, which I attributed...
  17. 2021 Toyota Supra 3.0 Dyno Results

I could never even max out my E92 and the Supra's significantly faster, even with the tune the E92 has. So i definitely don't feel like I'm missing out on much, since I don't track anything. And yeah, the E92's at about 115k miles and it's in the shop today getting some stuff fixed, lol.
  18. 2021 Toyota Supra 3.0 Dyno Results

I did a cursory Google search yesterday but couldn't find anyone who'd actually tuned their new Z4  The tunes exist, though, so not sure if any of the tuners on here who've got BMW experience know more. Perhaps it's better for some things, worse for other things. Two things are true...
  19. Matte Paint Detailing and New Car Prep

Yeah, that sounds like it should work, but who knows, it might flash at like 71 degrees or something . Too bad about your experience, most of the CG stuff I've used has been fine to good, if a bit overpriced.
