Good effort but I'm not a big fan. The FT-1 had a flowing shape with organic lines, but this is full of hard lines... especially that front bumper. Also the front hood is too long compared to what we've seen on the spied prototypes.
So basically I hope the insider source is not an insider...
Just because you say you will create a motorsports/performance division doesn't mean it'll be any good or succeed. Hyundai has little racing and performance cars history unlike Toyota which has a deep history of both. I think if Toyota decided to actually do something like this they'd be...
But then that would mean the entire front end changes from the FT-1 design. I'm hoping they're able to keep a decent amount of the concept's styling. Putting a Camry front end will take all the specialness away. :(
Clearer version of a magazine cover posted earlier in the thread.
If it gets this close to the concept I think I'd be happy, minus that LED strip in the front of the bumper.
There's supposed to be a Z1 and a Z3 also so makes sense that the Z4 can be a large convertible. The Z3 will probably be the sweet spot in terms of performance and driving dynamics.
Hm I wonder how BMW fans feel about this news. Presumably it'll be the M3/M4 engine that gets used in the Supra, and the first time that a M engine is used in a non-BMW car? And there's a big chance it'll be in a car that outperforms the BMW that shares its engine. I can totally see BMW M4...
Man lots of cars already share the same engine now they're going to share the same platform. It's really just going to be the same car with a different shell eventually :( Or same sausage different lengths as the saying goes.
I hope that they do offer some kind of high-high performance editions or models after the first model is introduced. You see companies doing this more and more these days by putting out special editions or upgraded models to keep interest in the car and to keep the sales going. Seems the cars...
Nice comparo pics. Similar colors really show how well the designers kept the Supra spirit and overall impression in the FT-1. Great modern interpretation. FT-1 looks tighter and sportier because of those short overhangs compared to the MKIV
And the FT-1 looks sick as a targa!
Can't wait for the day when that's clearly a MKV Supra prototype in front, maybe being tested against the NSX :)
Or when the trailing car is the MKV Supra prototype :)
Wouldn't mind having the MKV benchmarked against those two cars.... but how long we going to have to wait until the...
Also haven't seen any of the volume American V8 engines (Mustang, Challenger, Camaro) go forced induction while basically all the European ones have now. Interesting to see the different approaches.
It was all a joke by Toyota UK! What a lame joke

Toyota has announced the RND concept is only a joke of the company's UK division.
If you were hoping for a concept previewing a...
