  8. Brake fluid for HPDE

I did turn on the VSC just so I could keep the tank slappers down, TC was always off. So that certainly did some damage, I will get some time in a few days and measure what's left.
  9. Coming from a Manual Track Car, Left Foot Braking Question

I would left foot brake in my Miata at Summit Main turn 3 and turn 10, i thought about it Saturday when driving the Supra at a NASA event (free day from Toyota). I was exerting a lot of effort to keep from sliding around in the seat and didn't have time to think about it.
  10. Brake fluid for HPDE

I never ran out of brakes, just didn't care for the long travel. I measured my pads before the event looks like the rear pads wore out 2x more than the front. Might have something to do with the VSC turned on also. Good pads are going to chew up rotors, its always a tradeoff.
  11. Brake fluid for HPDE

So I had my free NASA Run on Sat at Summit Main. I haven't run on stock tires and pads on a car since 2002 and I was in a fast group with instructors and time trial cars and open passing and frankly I haven't run at Summit Main since 2013 so I am a little rusty. Here are some observations...
  12. Pushing Type Rs beyond their skill

They made Shenandoah with the off camber corners on purpose. Off track excursions used to be a automatic return to the pit lane and a discussion with someone.
  13. Pushing Type Rs beyond their skill

Both type R's were missing turn in points, these were soloed drivers? I guess with Covid its lead and follow and no in car instruction? I have mixed feelings about Shenandoah, I took 2nd place in the RedLine Time attack event there in 2006 in 2WD mod. in 2007 I put my new C6 Corvette into the...
  14. Brake fluid for HPDE

I never tracked a car that had tire temp, on the dash, I am curious on what ideal hot temps are?
  15. Brake fluid for HPDE

I have 9600 miles on the original tires, mostly commuting and some back road driving. I wont feel bad if I kill them off in A HPDE but I don't expect to. I remember when they repaved Summit Main maybe 12 years ago, there was a ton of grip, I corded a R888 in one day in a track spec Miata.
  16. Brake fluid for HPDE

I will stick with 35 cold for now Here is what I had the car aligned to last year after I bought it. 1.60 L and -2.20 R (cant adjust those) Ended up .2 total front toe .2 rear toe -1.60 LF Camber -2.25 RF Camber and -2.0 camber rear L and R
  17. Brake fluid for HPDE

Too low and the tire flexes too much generating more heat and pressure, I usually loot at the side walls, this photo was after running at the Dragon in TN last week.
