  1. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Yeah I work with Glenn. Coggin did the engine swap. The head tech guy Mike came with solid recommendations. I’m sure it was his first Supra motor swap but unlikely his first engine swap. Everything seems fine from the last thousand or so miles I’ve put on it since I got it back though. BMW is...
  2. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I had the same issue you are experiencing. Burning crazy quantities of oil. Head tech scoped the cylinders and found scoring on my cylinder walls. Toyota replaced the motor at 4100 miles.

Good to know about some features but disappointing to hear that they don’t have more information about an amp for the Supra. May just have to swap it out with a JL and rewire.

Thats a good find. Didn’t realize they would have a line out on it. I will definitely rewire away from my 8” splices and go to that if/when it comes out. I was excited when I heard they released a new version of the revenant amp the other day but was dismayed to learn it’s just for the BMW side...
  5. Aftermarket amplifier tie in

Agreed. I was hoping that Bavsound would release their new revenant amp that would work with the Supra but I guess we will be waiting a bit longer for that. If it comes at all I suppose. I’ve got mine sounding pretty good with just the speaker replacements/sub and tadda’s EQ settings. But I...

Best way imho is to spend the money and get a mostbus to toslink and just intercept the factory head unit signal pre amp. But when I was doing this all I could find for that was in the $500-$600 range and a lot of questions on whether it would work right. That’s what drove me to that particular...

I don’t know the voltage off hand from the factory 8s. I would measure it for you but I haven’t had my car for two months since I’m still waiting on a new engine from Germany. Main reason I used that signal is it comes into those speakers right below where my amp is located so it was mostly a...
  8. Aftermarket amplifier tie in

I took the input for each of the 8” rear speakers, spliced them both into an RCA and used that for the left and right input for the amp. My understanding from another thread is there are discreet L & R channels feeding the rear 8s so I wanted to send both signals to the amp to make sure...
  9. Aftermarket amplifier tie in

My plan was to replace the factory amp when Bavsound go around to creating the drop in. Hopefully in 2021. That said, my car is now garaged waiting on a new engine from Germany. Started leaking oil at 4200 miles. Was probably leaking for a while but thats when the messages started showing up...

So here is the final install. 1 JL 10WS7AE 1 JL VX600/1i Full BavSound replacement Full implementation of Tadda's sound quality recommendations.

Thanks for the reply Tadda. I had found your mod to the rear sub deck previously and was planning on implementing it when I swapped over to the Bavsound speakers while I have everything apart. I too am also disappointed in the low end sound response in the Supra and general loudness overall. In...

Thanks for the reply. Super curious how your MOST to toslink goes. Have read there can be issues and you have to be careful when messing with the MOSTBUS though so was not certain I wanted to mess with that without knowing 100% what I was doing. Definitely want to see your write-up when you do...

Has anyone added an aftermarket amp and sub to round out the low end bass? If so where did you snag the signal and power on from? Was planning on adding a JL VX600/1i amp paired to a 10WS6v3-D4 to the system to go along with a full Bavsound replacement for all 12 speakers. I've found great...
