That timing is no surprise at this point. As soon as they announced another concept wasn't coming until October this year, it automatically put production in 2018 at the earliest. :(
Besides the engine, are we suspecting any other components will potentially be off the shelf BMW parts? If it realy ends up a BMW engine will the transmission be also?
LOVE how small they kept the new Supra. Was afraid they were gonna make it a GT type of car. This looks like it will be a serious sports car. :headbang:
I dont know if anyone has mentioned it yet but that is the BMW 3 series standard sport steering wheel. It's baffling to me what is going on with this mule that is supposedly the next Supra and why the whole interior is filled with BMW parts bin bits.
Top 1 thing Toyota Supra must have: TOYOTA engine! Don't like the talk in this list about a BMW parts bin engine. Inline or V6 I don't care, but it absolutely gotta be a Toyota engine. Twin turbo would be a bonus, for tune-ability sake.
They feel just as smooth. Just have some added small turbo whine and of course a lot more torque-y. Issue is their N54 and N55 turbo engines have had fuel pump issues. At least 2 recalls I can remember reading about now with the latest one being just last week.
Keep in mind tho that most hypercars are built by sports car companies. BMW and Mercedes are mass producing general car companies that happen to also build some sporty cars so their whole goal is different than a sports car company.
