Would love if what he said was true, but I agree with the response someone made to what Steve said. "That's a stylized/exaggerated cartoon/drawing render, so how can an actual car look "100% like" it? The actual car might look very much like the render in the article -- but still not 100% as...
Looks like BMW has enough trust in Magna Steyr to have them help build a huge volume seller of theirs, the BMW 5 Series. According to this Magna Steyr will be responsible for building additional next generation BMW 5 Series that BMW themselves can't handle...
Definitely not a GT size or styled car. Props to Toyota for making the MKV Supra a proper sports car!
Can't really tell front or rear design yet but the overall roof and trunk line is pretty sweet.
With the shows remaining I would think Toyota will just hold a separate event and have it at the future auto shows. The shows are really losing their luster nowadays.
Yea Toyota isn't stupid they know how to play the whole marketing game. They didn't bring the FT-1 to all those pubic events and cars and coffee events just for fun. They know that showing it in public generates photos and more and more buzz.
180" or longer is pretty standard these days for a 2+2 sports coupe. It's not an apples to apples comparison with the Z4/Z5. Anything smaller and it will lose any practical usage of the back seats (if you are about that).
They needed to because the Z4 is a pig of a car for a roadster. It needed to drop weight to get better.
Hopefully this means Toyota will start testing the the Supra soon too and let us see a mule :)
Can it really be nixed at this point? They've already revealed a production model. Honda does not have their act together if they can't even launch this car after all these years.
I have more confidence in Toyota and the Supra. More likely to come to market and faster since it's being co...
The Giulia is a compelling offering on paper, but will also depend on price. Don't think it will be cheap and might be more than the M3. My fear would be the lack of a dealer network for a brand that's not known for its reliability.
Gas guzzler tax on the GT350 too. There is going to be some serious markups on these the first few years out. I'd give it a year and hopefully we can get some real Supra news by then. All I need is just something to keep me waiting...
I must've missed that rumor back then. I know there was always speculation about a 3 sports car line up but I had never saw about the actual codename 69DZ until recently. I hope they offer it in the US, it would make sense to if they are going after the Miata as is rumored. Supposed to be super...
I've seen a few sites report that Toyota confirmed that a sub-86 car is coming. Seems like a lot of new models to handle trying to round out the entire sports car line up in a few years.
So there's the sub-86 (supposedly dubbed the 69DZ internally), FT 86, and the MKV Supra.
Which do we see...
Ok so it's not exactly a secret that the Toyota-BMW project will spawn the Supra, but the Toyota Europe vice-president and product planning chief Karl Schlicht doesnt actually call it the Supra. Just a car that will slot above the GT86. Some of the other new details are interesting if true...
