I’ll try and take a pic of the itemized list. It was the entire engine assembly. Pretty sure you keep the same ECU. I’d revert back to stock, it’s a bitch but you don’t want them to try and find a reason to void your warranty.
yeah, the vehicle was down for about 2 and a half months. Not a great experience at all. Until there’s some sort of resolution for my particular situation, I’m doing the same, adding oil and enjoying it. Best of luck to you.
I’m fully aware. But in relation to others who have the exact same A91 model, they’re not experiencing the oil consumption issue. I have 15k miles on the new motor. I think it’s broken in.
right on. The oil consumption rate Has changed from one quart every 850-900 miles to one quart every 1200 miles now. Consulting lemon law lawyer for options. I’d really like them to just offer a amount of cash back and just build the internals. But we’ll see.
excuse this super late reply but I’ve been off the forum for a while. Have you had any issues with Toyota taking notice of your aftermarket mods? Any talk of voided warranties and the like?
I had my engine replaced around 7K on the ODO, I’m sitting around 20K now. I was adding one quart of oil every 850-900 miles. I drive the car in sport and manual about 90% of the time. They found vertical scoring in the cylinders on the original engine. The oil consumption issue still persists...
That was my issue too, was set to start modding right before this started. Repair took around 2 months. A lot of it was waiting for non reusable parts that were on back order.
Engine swap tech sheet. Engine Assy, part is the complete motor. Was told 20K for the engine alone. Not a cheap endeavor to perform on all the affected vehicles. So far no issues, runs like new, as it should have in the first place. I’ll keep everyone posted.
Loaner as in a Corolla lol. Yes, and obviously comped. They explained that with some recalls on other vehicles they’ve comped rental tickets exceeding 18K even.
It’s been a long and frustrating process but I feel they’re doing what’s necessary to rectify the issue. I just want to drive my car lol. I’ll be sure to keep you all posted.
They had the new engine within a week of ordering it, yet took another two weeks to source all necessary hardware such as gaskets and special calibration tools. My vehicle was the first defective example my dealer encountered.
Haven’t been here in a while...2021 refraction Blue Supra. Bought the car in November. Got my first warning light @ 1,500 miles. I’ve had low oil notifications every 600-700 miles or so. Have needed to add 1 quart of oil each time. Car driven 90% in manual and sport mode. Car has been to the...
Definitely going to ring it out for a bit. During break in, I kept it in manual and sport. Just under the rpm parameters. Tons of engine braking and gear changes. Interested to see what the tech says first of course lol.
Right on. I do recall reading about acceptable oil types, especially 5W-30. Definitely plan on switching up once this issue is sorted out. Just glad I kept it stock haha.
