I noticed that the HU 6022 Z Mann filter I just received has the same green o rings (see attached photo). Is it possible that these are counterfeit units? Are they supposed to be black?

Glad you figured it out, but the endlinks would've been the first things I would have checked, for they are a weak spot in the suspension and are designed that way, to protect the other components from failure. It is especially important to check them from time to time, if you have upgraded...

Since you have all the panels out, you should check the output from the Amp on that channel. Is your subwoofer jumping up and down (clipping)?
