Yeah, I've made a little bit of progress but still a while from having a CF version. I closed off the second hole and shaved the fins. I need to clean up the plug then make a mold. I'll post some updates as they happen. Thanks.
Ended up going with a custom setup so letting this go cheap. Can meet somewhere between Austin and San Antonio for local pickup or ship at buyers expense. Thanks!
That's a good point, but I'm not too concerned about it in this case. My lack of driving ability should far outweigh any small corner balance issues that may arise. 🤣
As for your question, the stock intake box comes in at 74.3oz, or 4.6lbs. That is the full intake with the air filter. For a...
Installed my new dry carbon replacement air box for the MST intake. I didn't bother with getting a good finish as this is just a test of my plug and mold and there are several issues that aren't worth fixing. Made with two layers of Torayca T800H-6K pre-preg carbon fiber. The entire box with...
Hey, thanks to you and everyone else that gave feedback. It was exactly what I was looking for. Everybody pretty much had the same stuff to say too. They liked the polished raw finish, which was the really important part, but nobody likes walking around with a yardstick in their pocket. 😄...
I like that idea. I'm going to go take a look at my car to see what mounting options are in that area then see about getting the measurements for the jb4.
Oh, ok, you're not messing around. An aero kit was my next project where those 3d modeling skills would be needed so yeah, we should definitely talk some more about your kit.
Thanks, and I very well might take you up on that offer of helping with a 3D printed plug! I've got a few ideas that will need way more talent with 3d design than I currently have. So what pieces have you come up with so far? Would love to see some pics. And let me know if you want any of...
This is bringing up some repressed memories. The best pirate BBS's were never local so that must have been a long distance call. Yeah, that wound is never gonna heal.
I was big into SGI equipment and my daily driver at the time was an SGI Octane running the Irix OS. Guess it could have been Windowsypc or Osxymac, but those don't sound as cool to me.
I used a product in a manner other than intended and ended up with a furry carbon fiber mirror cap. This is some chapped strand carbon fiber that is really meant for bulking, but I wanted to see what else I could do with it. Did a wet layup under vacuum and this is what popped out. The plan...
It is raw dry carbon without a clear coat, but it's been cured under vacuum in an oven so it's not like raw-raw carbon. It won't rub off in your pockets or anything like that if that's the concern. Did I understand the question right?
Hi Supra friends! So I've started making some carbon fiber merch in addition to an intake and a couple of other small carbon pieces for our platform that should be available soon. I would like to give away the first batch of 10 key chains here on the forum in exchange for some feedback on...
