The Supra is one of the few cars available that features wireless CarPlay. What are your thoughts and impressions of this feature? Note I am an avid CarPlay user so please do not review the software itself, instead focus on the wireless implementation of it.

My theory is that Toyota offered black only because they wanted to create perceived value for the launch edition model. Once the 1500 are sold out I expect they will offer black or red interior for 2021. Since Toyota Australia already does this it would seem to be the logical outcome.

This is simply not true. I sat in this passenger seat several times, it is very roomy. The cockpit is canted toward the driver, but the passenger area is just fine.

I understand that, I just can't understand why they thought relaunching their iconic car with one interior color was a good idea.

I also just discovered that Toyota Australia offers the red interior on all colors on the GTS grade. Why on Earth did Toyota decide not to do this in the US?

Already allowing it in Canada so clearly Toyota isn't concerned.

Which on the one hand is all the more perplexing, but on the other hand would logically seem to indicate we'll be able to order it in the future.

It boggles my mind why Toyota is offering such a limited interior color selection. In fact right now in the US they aren't offering any selection at all once the launch editions are spoken for. Have you looked at the C8 interior choices? Now that's options.

Does anyone know if only the launch editions will get the red interior? Is there any reason to believe it can be ordered for the 2nd model year? Having one interior color option is such a major negative for me.

The launch year will definitely see NO incentives. However I am talking about leasing for the 2021 model year where demand will have cooled off to meet supply. At that point incentives will likely be available.

Looks amazing with a targa top. For me, the lack of it was the only disappointing aspect of the car at launch.
