  4. Titan motor sports exhaust

I agree I think it would be the one to get if/when I decide I want a super loud car. Some reviews said flapper vibration, etc, (and were replaced) but for the most part it fits well.
  5. How necessary is the Downpipe?

No I was in my R32 GT-R the year that car was there (the celica that sheared the wheel studs on the line). That car was a 6 speed Getrag 2JZGTE setup. Mine is a fully forged LS 6.0 with twin 66mm, TH400 and Parallel 4-link. It's a liftback 77. Still working on cage fab etc right now, but the...
  6. How necessary is the Downpipe?

GESUNDHEIT (best I can do with one word)
  7. How necessary is the Downpipe?

I'm sure when these car companies do their on-track and in-house powertrain dyno testing they are testing the parts to ensure they can handle a racing environment. If not, I don't know how they ever plan to make a single lap around the nurburgring in them. Think about the massive amount of heat...
  8. How necessary is the Downpipe?

You've got me curious to how it has held up. I'm sure circuit racing guys are abusing them much more than most drag guys are. I agree with all that there are likely gains, and likely increased reliability from one less part to fail, but I was just curious on what level this happens at is all.
  9. How necessary is the Downpipe?

Thanks for the feedback. This makes me have more questions: 1) Do you have an aftermarket downpipe on the car now? If so, does it glow when you do pulls also? 2) If you have removed this cat since then, was it burned up inside?
  10. How necessary is the Downpipe?

I'm not trying to be rude, I just haven't experienced modern turbo failures from many other reasons than debris in the oil system or massive overspeed situations. Like I said if you plugged a cat and had a TON of back pressure the exhaust valves would likely be the first to overheat or a piston...
  11. How necessary is the Downpipe?

Can you please prove your claim of significantly shorten the life of my turbo? I don't think this claim is very accurate. I was SPECIFICALLY asking what the stock power limits of the stock catalyst is because after inspecting it in person, I don't really see that it would be that big of a...
  12. How necessary is the Downpipe?

I need a quick answer if anyone can tell me how much power can be had on the stock downpipe (ie-what gains are there?). I am tunable 2021, and installed ECUTEK and Flex fuel, but since I was waiting on my downpipe to show up, I went ahead and put an OTS stage 2 tune in the car to do some...
  13. Break-In Period Driving Habits

LOL probably should have read this first. Did my first 60-130 pull on the way home from picking up the car (around 600 miles) and the first two 1/4 mile pulls there too! I have built race engines my whole life - break in all happens within the first 150 miles of power application for sure. And...
  14. Rust :(

Hi, I just bought a 2021 in silver (build date 6/2020) and found a rust spot on it at 425 miles. Did anyone determine what cars are affected by this issue? How are we having rust spots there if the hatch is indeed composite?!
