Maybe drive a SC/turbo 86 and see if your concern is warranted.
The (3.0) Supra is a proven track machine, so your question is deeper than āhow does the 3400lbs handle?ā.
The torque and power of the (3.0) is a ton of fun outside of tracks and twisties.
If your budget can handle it, a (3.0)...

Already the lowest priced confirmed tunable Supra at this mileage. Not to mention the detailed maintenance history - no guessing.
Below average 2020 price (%'s are the last 30 days).
Thanks...
Seat (maybe a nice reclinable one)/harness/HANS?
Car is reliable for repeat track duty. I think the next moves depend on your track goals. What are those?
For sale is a 2020 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium (8AT). Since becoming a father in August 2022, the car has become somewhat of a driveway ornament driven just ~6,200 miles in 18 months.
ā¹ This example has an incredibly thorough maintenance history, Blackstone Laboratories certified healthy engine...
Can you lean the seat back a little to lower your head from the roof? Is your seat position lowered all the way? We had an instructor who Iām sure was about your height or taller, and he made it work.
I have to lean the seat back just to get the headrest out of my way.
Whatās your definition of āmistakeā in this context? That should help clear up your answer.
And if neither are tracked, the Supra would likely be more fun day to day.
Despite what others claim in their short amount of driving, yes, it will eventually come on. https://www.supramkv.com/threads/will-the-cg-precision-ds-1-catted-downpipe-throw-a-cel.20278/
Had 8k miles on the downpipe when I flashed to stock and got the CEL. Not sure when it would have come on...
I read the B58 can retain heat for ~36 hoursā¦intentionally to reduce the wear and tear from cold starts.
Your car was probably warmer than you thought it was and therefore expected different startup behavior.
I would imagine slightly better in dry performance with a hit to wet performance and tread life. Cost is higher, of course, but it doesnāt look like too much more.
I have the ExtremeContact Sport 02s, and Iām super pleased with them in both handling dry street launches (tuned), feeling safe in...
I never bothered to update the firmware. I also bent/broke the OBD port tab to make it easy to unplug/plug back in, when needed. The connection is really snug, as is.
I believe mine is at extremely high (after testing āhighā).
I donāt think I messed with the start/stop, but I also have that bimmercoded to just remember the last setting (so effectively disabled because I donāt like start/stop).
Maybe this will help. https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=2288173
If youāre talking about the electrical wire, I have yet to find that part number.
This works in my car, but the included j clips bent and popped off the seat rails as the seats pushed into them. My solution was to remove the metal j clips and zip tie the cargo net to the seat rails.
The seats can back into them all they want and nothing pops off now.
I did the same - https://www.supramkv.com/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-supra-today.2074/post-192345
However, Iād like to report that after a proper track day, they have discolored significantly. Iāve returned to stock tips. Just a heads up for anyone who expects prolonged high exhaust temps...
Driver misjudgment, for sure.
But talking about the car, Iām convinced this could happen with TC in Traction mode or completely on depending on how modified. I know one of the (circuit) track people on this forum has posted a video of this (on track).
Just donāt want people to think the...
This is how I feel about the N/A Porsches Iāve driven. Theyāre amazing machines, but I canāt imagine having more fun daily with their high rpm n/a engines vs. powerful turboād engines. Iād need a week or so to test my theory.
Serious question - FP Green claims 20% āmore flowā. This claims 17% āmore flowā. How do we know this isnāt going to produce the same underwhelming results?
Both brands had/have pretty good reputations.
Definitely - we just have to hope that no tracks concede too much setting some precedent that send it in this direction.
In the meantime, Iām onboard with publicly shaming those that move next to racetracks then complain about racetrack noises š
