I only buy new cars so used isn`t even a choice. The only car I would buy used is if I was buying from a friend or family member.
Today`s market makes specially with the supra makes them less appealing. People here spending close to MSRP for a used supra really shock me.
I sold my 2.0L more than I paid back when the market was hotter. My problem with the 2.0L was sound. The 3.0L with the right exhaust sounds amazing and that's half the fun for me. I knew I eventually wanted a 3.0L so I sold it.
I don`t have a deposit at my local dealership but I have bought a Supra from them before. I think its perfectly fine to have a deposit down if they are not willing to put you on the list without one. Other than that get ready to wait.
That dude decides to join (just joined last month) a forum with people who are buying 2 seat sports cars and wants to preach about good spending habits. He just doesn`t understand this demographic yet.
This notion that markups will be around for years to come because of a small percentage of people buy cars "just because" really is a ridiculous statement. Is my whole point here.
A lease is to long and its hard to get out of it if something else comes up. Also if you knew anything about sport car leasing you would know they have terrible lease rates. People have had these kinds of buying habits long before covid and markups were so common. I would bet markups will...
It not "just because". As a car guy I love cars from all different brands and want to experience different makes/models.
There is also a difference between someone who can afford to do it and someone who cannot. Which is why most rich car enthusiasts have car collections and are always buying...
I had something similar to you. Got a base 2.0L Supra under MSRP with low interest rate in late 2021. I really liked the way the car looked and the handling was amazing. Got a offer for more than I paid but when tax I broke even. I wanted more power and the sound of the 3.0L is much better...
I never liked the horse analogy when talking about EVs. EVs are pretty much the exact same thing as ICE cars besides how you fill them up. They look the same, drive the same, and any new tech that can be added to a EV can also be added to a ICE car.
I do think cheap electric power for cars is a short term thing though. The world is moving to electric to reduce emissions and use more renewable energy. I would bet there will be a day where it cost more to charge a car than it was to fill up gas.
What Toyota and other Japanese car buyers don`t realize is that every American and European car maker has custom ordering available right now. Myself, friends and family all put in custom orders in 2021/2022 with zero problems from different brands. On average it took about 4-5 months to get the...
My dad is on the list for a M2 at our local dealership. I think the Supra is rarer and more unique. Plus the B58 sounds way better. My dad struggled getting in and out of my supra unlike my moms M240i. The M2 will be more comfortable and overall better performance car.
I had a few BMWs in the past including a M3. So I knew they made great cars and I really never had major problems with them. But I am far from a BMW fanboy and am always trying new car brands.
I was in the market to buy a Mustang GT but came across a Supra that was selling under MSRP (2.0L model) and was close to the price of mustangs. The Supra was never on my radar until I saw one on the lot and knew I had to have it. I really like the uniqueness of the car and the nostalgia the...
I am in the same boat I understand trust me haha. I just don`t think anyone should stand up for Toyota in this case. Give them no excuse is the way I see. We understand why they do what they do. But it creates a worse buying experienced compared to other companies.
We all want or have a Supra...
Every car brand does this but they give the option to also custom order. That`s what people are not understand here. All those cars you see on dealer lots were not custom ordered.
Lets also not forget Toyota employees can custom order cars for themselves. The system to custom order actually...
For me basically looking for a black automatic (would take manual also) 3.0L in any spec. Its not like the Supra even comes in many different forms other than the color. But to think its this hard to find one in a reasonable distance is mind blowing.
I would love to put a order into a...
Just a heads up the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act only holds weight in court not at dealership. It can protect you but will require legal action. Its not like you can walk into the service department and say the magic words and now the dealership or manufacturer is suddenly forced to pay and fix...
