  1. Should Toyota Supra keep FT-1 2+2 configuration? Or lose backseats?

I just hope the new one has those kind of dimensions! But a small backseat is better than no backseat.
  2. Should Toyota Supra keep FT-1 2+2 configuration? Or lose backseats?

Yes, it looks more inline with an mk4. I'm saying the Cali appears to be much bigger than the Z4 and Toyota driving around. Of course it's all speculation until we see actual stats.
  3. Should Toyota Supra keep FT-1 2+2 configuration? Or lose backseats?

I am intimately familiar with the California T. The California/California T are decently large for their segment, GT cars. More inline with the size of an Aston Martin DB11 or Mercedes SL. Much bigger than the Z4 we have now seen. Even in the Cali, the rear seats are terrible, un-GT like. The...
  4. 2019 Toyota Supra Prototype Reveals Production Intent Design/Parts

Haha, it does sound like a jet! I can't wait to learn more about the power-plant.
  5. BMW model codes include Supra (J29) with auto transmission, 4 and 6 cylinder engines

It all sounded great to me except for the 2019 date. I was hoping deliveries would begin in 2018. Again, this was not officially put out by Toyota, so who knows if this info is legitimate or not.
  6. BMW model codes include Supra (J29) with auto transmission, 4 and 6 cylinder engines

I was on clublexus earlier today and there was reference to an interview with a chief engineer/designer for Toyota that had a part in the Land Cruiser and LX. The link provided goes to a Land Cruiser forum. Within that interview, the new Supra was brought up and discussed. Here is his response...
  7. BMW model codes include Supra (J29) with auto transmission, 4 and 6 cylinder engines

I like the sound of the "M" 425 hp six. Hopefully the Supra gets that kind of power from the beginning of production. 355 hp is not enough!
  8. MKV Toyota Supra Dimensions / Specs leaked in Best Car Magazine

The BMW looks a tad small for a Supra, but just right for a Z4. The man standing next to it makes the car look tiny in my opiniong, specifically the wheelbase. Even though this was engineered alongside the Toyota, that does not have to mean they were required to design each to have the same...
  9. BMW model codes include Supra (J29) with auto transmission, 4 and 6 cylinder engines

What are the chances the Toyota will at least offer a turbocharged inline six similar to the BMW M4? That motor puts out 425 hp. The current motors in the Z4 are just not sufficient for Toyota's top end sports car.
  10. What will the FT-1 be called? Supra trademark revived by Toyota!

I just hope there is no 4-cylinder version for the flagship Toyota! However a new 4wd turbo four for the comeback of the Celica would be fantastic! Perhaps when the 86 is due for a replacement. I would love to see a new Celica that follows the same design philosophy as the fifth and six gen Celicas.
  11. Lets talk about a side air vent/scoop/intake

I really like the vents to cool the brakes both in back and presumably up front. Tastefully designed, functional vents not overused add to the overall appeal of a sports car to me. I vote to keep them at the rear and those on the fenders!
  12. 2020 Supra Transmission Chat - Manual, Dual Clutch, or Auto?

A traditional manual transmission with three pedals is a must!
  13. Should Toyota Supra keep FT-1 2+2 configuration? Or lose backseats?

I sure hope it will be a 2+2 seater! There is no denying the usability of that space for all the things you want to bring along. I am looking forward to having atleast one of my modern sports cars be one in which I can bring my wife and kids out in all at the same time. All prior Supras have...
  14. Toyota FT-1 concept & A90 Supra design dissected

I would love to see that at the track!
  15. If not the New Supra, then what?

There will be no cross-shopping for me. I have been a Toyota fan, and fanatic of their sports cars throughout the eighties and nineties for years. I have owned two Celica Supras (still have one today), my parents have owned numerous Toyotas (including a rare 98 Celica Liftback) and I am looking...
  16. The Engine Speculation Thread

I would like to see a genuine, Toyota engineered power-plant for the new Supra. The motor standard in the upcoming Lexus LS would be a great start, tuned to be appropriate for a sports car. A minimum of 420 hp. Really though, the car ought to be more powerful than the Lexus "F" variants, at...
  17. BMW model codes include Supra (J29) with auto transmission, 4 and 6 cylinder engines

The new 18 Camry has some impressive numbers for its class. 300 hp out of the XSE V6 deserves bragging rights. I can only hope that anything to be called Supra in the future also warrants genuine bragging rights among Supra enthousiasts and owners of past generations.
  18. BMW model codes include Supra (J29) with auto transmission, 4 and 6 cylinder engines

I gotta say, with each new rumor that surfaces, I am getting increasingly turned off at the thought of this car being called a Supra. I am on board with this as the next Celica (hope the Celica makes a comeback as well) however. The dimensions, overall design, engine output seems to be more...
