I was looking into where the oil filter filter was... and unlike the M4, where it was at the front of the the engine, it's burried in the back, about a foot lower than the head, by the firewall. It requires a special tool to get the oil cap off. You need to jam pack the area with towels, because...
Researching the new Supra has left a void in the enthusiasm I once had for it. With the details slowing dripping out, it becomes clearer what the Supra actually is... a hard top Z4... and with it, all the baggage that comes from a luxury german sports car.
Just condering things like oil...
“will be a pure sports car – practicality and comfort were almost not considered.”
this is sad if completely true... I'd like a Supra with some well placed cupholders, seats that I can drive more than 100 miles in and not feel like I broke my back, a cigarette lighter or two for electronics...

I do wonder what the continuing expansion of 3rd party engines in Toyota's lineup will do to their overall reliability. Toyota is going to have Subaru FA20 (been in the FR-S/86/BRZ since 2012) and BMW B58 engines in its lineup soon. Subaru and BMW aren't synonymous with bulletproof engines or...
The sun is setting on the S55 engine, and while the M2 and M4 currently have it, they will be refreshing the M2, M3 and M4 soon. When they are refreshed, they will introduce a new engine that will likely be based on the current B58 engine. There is a distinction between launching a special...
There is no way the Supra is going to have a significantly lower center of gravity. Just considering that this will be an i6, and if based on the B58, like suspected, will have a stroke that is 8mm longer than the FA20, and pointed in a direction opposite of gravity.
