I'm in the same boat, wanting a DP/Intake and 93 tune. I didn't even know you could do an OTS tune on a 21 ecu without a clone. Would the $1800 unlock and BM3 for example be more beneficial than just a JB4 if that's the extent of the mods?
I had a 2010 Miata that I absolutely loved while in college. Then at my first job post grad I was doing a lot of traveling around the state so I went with a 2018 Audi A4, and now that I changed jobs and work from home with no kids, traded the Audi for my Supra.
The only problem with this is that nobody in the market for a supra would ever buy the base Z, so the cost comparison is nonsense. The base is for BRZ buyers that might want to spend a bit more for the extra power.
Yeah this is really my main issue with the "good value" trim. I honestly think it is a good car, but its 10k more than a 370z was while reusing seats from 2003, the 2009 chassis, using an engine Nissan already developed and a borrowed Mercedes trans. The base literally is just buying the engine...
