Do you mind sharing which Toyota dealership you successfully had your firmware updated? We're struggling to get this done at our local dealerships and would be helpful to direct them to somewhere it's been done. Thanks in advance.
Thanks very much for the responses, glad you both got it sorted. Last time it was in for a service they couldn't replicate or find the issue and doubt they will. However, I'll use this post as evidence and push for software\firmware updates as it's really dangerous now. I'm in the UK, so may...
Just following up on the above messages, ours is getting worse and had a few dangerous incidents. It's now happening at least a few times a week now, but no changes been made to the car. Still no recognition or fix from Toyota?
Did the gearbox remap eliminate the issue completely?
Just remembered about these and updated the pricing.

ALWAYS!
I've had 28 cars in my life and only ever bent over once and traded in. Always sell privately. Higher value cars do take longer, but will sell once priced right. I'd say at least 10% if not 20% more than trade-in values. You have to remember the extra money in your pocket is tax free...
Good luck with your next motoring adventure. Going through the same debate myself, REALLY missing having a roadster.
Is this your old car by any chance...
