The T24a, V35a as well as the ttV8 were new engine platforms in development, latter of which never made it to production but still continued development after LCF cancellation. We will see it in the production Toyota GR GT.
Are you suggesting that Toyota had an i6 in development *before* they partnered with BMW in 2012..... And it was abandoned 8-9 years later during Covid?

Also it does make sense.. They've publically talked about Celica, not MR2. Yet we haven't seen any Celica mules but we have seen the MR Yaris development mule.
If it's a rally-oriented MR car maybe that's why they are giving it the Celica...
I think the concept was always intended to be a replacement for the Supra so not surprised that for now Supra may rest while the MR2 takes over.

Just a reminder that a full lineup of "GR" and "GR Sport" branded cars with primarily aesthetic and suspension modifications existed in 2017, so there's no "watering down" of the GR badge happening as this is what they've done for years, and still do currently.
They'd need to renew their contract with Magna if the next-gen Supra will be a heavy revision of the current gen.. unless you think the production elsewhere..
