I’m looking to do some a pillar pods for mid range speakers. But my a91 has like a material on the a-pillar instead of an ABS plastic.

Do all Supras have tweed on the a-Pillar or is it just a91

I highly doubt there is any factory MKV Supra interior with a different material for the A pillars.

Why are you asking? If you're making pods for them, simply cutting a hole in the tweed/any material and placing some kind of cap on top of it would provide a clean look.

Also; There are airbags behind the A pillar. Be safe, whatever your plan is :)

I believe all interior a-pillars are the same. I have mine replaced to support my gauges.

It’s going to be difficult to run any thick wires between the airbag and the metal framing. Obviously remove the pillar before cutting into anything

I doubt those 500 or so a91s have different a-pillars but confirming that at least 2020 Supras don’t have any abs plastic material on the a-pillars.

Ok. Thanks guys. I’m looking at 4” speakers in the pillars and 6.5s in the doors now.
So I’m thinking a 16 gauge wire. Would that make it?

Does anyone happen to have a pic of what the pillar looks like without the molding installed

16 gauge shouldn’t be an issue. If you run the wires in front of the airbag then the airbag probably won’t work well

Sounds good. Is the air bag down low or up high in these cars

It will be mounted up high, since it's the curtain airbag. Here's a crappy technical drawing to show how it mounts. Tons of room for wiring in the lower part, honestly.

It’s been a minute since I had them off but tbh I remember it taking up the majority of the pillar. I wouldn’t call it spacious
