I plan to mount winter tire onto OEM wheels. Does the 255/35R19 fit on rear wheel or do I need to run it stagger setup?

Do a 255/40/19. That's closer to OEM circumference (275/35/19) and it gives you a little more sidewall so the tire is less stretched on the wheel. And for winter more sidewall is always good.

Also planning to go winter tires on OEM wheels.

So is it alright to do a 255/35/19 front winter tire set up
and
255/40/19 Rear winter set up?

Yeah should be fine
Thanks for the response!

I suppose my next question is:

Would you say then that 255/35/19 front and 255/40/19 rears is the most optimal winter set-up for the OEM wheels? Or is there potentially a better set-up to do?
I live in Utah so we get a pretty decent amount of snow here.
New to the tire talk and have been doing a lot of reserach.. but any advice would be great!

A buddy of mine recommends to follow the OE specs of 255/35 and 275/35 but from what I've read 275 is much too wide and won't cut in the snow. He also said to stick within the 35 ratio but your explanation here for reducing the stretch and increasing side wall makes more sense.

Yeah you want to sink into the snow, not ride on top.
Sidewall height is measured in percentage. So a 225/40 is not as tall as a 275/40 that's why I say a 255/40 instead of a 275/35. Sidewall height wise, they're almost identical.
I would go as narrow as the wheels would allow. Like 225/40/19 up front, and 245/40/19 in the rear.

Got it! Appreciate the info. Narrower the better and will look for 40 on the ratio.

Regarding widths…
Whats the rule of thumb on how much mm you can stretch a tire? Is there a way to confirm the what widths the OEM wheels will allow outside of its specification? Or is 225 on 255 and 245 on 275 a pretty standard stretch and is fine to run?
Thanks again in advance!

Yeah 30mm isn't too much of a stretch especially if you compensate with a taller sidewall. I wouldn't do more than that though.
