Looking for some help. Had HKS springs put on by a shop and they have them adjusted all they down, for now. You can see the rears seem normal but the front have only dropped about .3”, where as it should be about 1.7” drop. Any ideas what could be causing this? I have about 65 miles on it now and can’t imagine they’re going to settle anymore at this point. I’m going to jack it up and just take a look, anything to look for? I appreciate any help.

@drave199 Do you have the wrenches that came with the springs? Just use those with a breaker bar to loosen the lock and then move the spring perch upwards to lower the car. I just installed mine last week and just kept them at the preset HKS sent them with. It's about halfway up the thread which should give you just over a 1-inch drop. BTW, from the picture, it also looks like they installed your rubber spring silencer a little high, just in case you ever hear a clanking noise when you drive. Take a look at my spring installed, noticed the threads.

So in the photo I attached, are you saying they are actually set all the way up right now? Does the purple part need to be threaded UP to drop the car?

Wow so instead of adjusting them all the up down like they think, they adjusted them all the way up. Lol. Sounds about right.

Check to make sure the factory shipping spacers aren’t still installed. You can check by just jacking the car up and then lifting the rubber boot.

Take a picture of the strut with the wheel off, i wanna see how they set up the HKS perch on the strut itself.... they might have forgot something or didn't completely seat the perch...

on that side note;

No they’re adjusted all the way down, I don’t know what the other guy is smoking.
I’ll check for the spacers but can’t imagine they left them in. Was there supposed to be something left off the front suspension besides the plastic cylinder cap that’s removed? I don’t have the hks packer in the box so I assume those were installed, were those supposed to be installed? I have two of each of the parts in the picture…

Looking at the OP's photo, the spring seats are all the way down. Is it possible he got wrong springs?

Very doubtful. I’d take it back and have the installer look it over. It’s obvious something isn’t right.

Kind of where I’m at. I’m about to pull a wheel and see if there’s anything obvious . I’ll update.

Never know right? I've done many coil over installs over the years and since I buy different spring rates for the same damper units I know for certain sometimes they accidentally package the wrong springs.. or some times springs on some cars appear very similar front and rear and one would really need to look at the pn to know which corner it's for.. as some springs are wound differently too left to right.

Anyway, hope you find the culprit!

Glad you found the problem!!

I usually never let anyone touch my car. The last time I had someone do a simple spring install on one of my previous cars as I hurt my back and could not do it myself (and spring install is easy didn't see how they could screw it up), they mounted it with the hat orientation slightly off and caused clunking. Ended up re-doing it myself once my back was better..
