Suddenly? They've had one since Miami lol. Rules aren't changing much for next year, so what's good now will be good in 2025. If McLaren get their strategy calls right, and Lando his own, I see them running away with it next year.

Just read an article that Horner stated difficult decisions need to be made and that Checo WILL BE racing in Brazil but WILL NOT confirm it's in an RB, I can't see him swapping seats this late in the game, BUT what do they have to lose? I don't see Checo's Mexican dollars he is bringing to the team more than what's lost between 1st and 3rd in the constructor's championship.


Alot of people like to talk about Norris, he is in his 6th year in F1 and fighting for a championship, something that took Max 7 years to accomplish. I'm not comparing them, that's silly. Max was doing more with less back then, I'm just saying Lando has had a car since mid of last year that's turned around and people are expecting him to "have the maturity" of a championship winning driver. He has embarrassed every teammate he has had since Sainz, just crazy how much hate the kid gets.

Let me just start by saying just how much I have enjoyed this season, almost as enjoyable as the 2021 season (minus the horrific ending, not to beat that horse anymore). Having 3 legit teams taking the reigns for stretches at the front, multiple driver wins, a close battle for both championships. We've really had a treat.

Now most people on here know I'm a McLaren fan first and I love both our current drivers, but I really am a sport of F1 fan before any of that. During McLarens draught of wins for years I was still highly interested in the races and who was winning and who was challenging. F1 has always, and will always have a lot of controversy in one form or another. The last two races and the stewards is nothing new, and I know that a lot of McLaren and Lando fans feel some sort of justice with the penalties that Max received, but I'm still disappointed that the stewards are just so inconsistent from one race to the next, or from one incident to the next in the same race.

I'd say most of the time our dislike of the stewards isn't with the penalties that they call (not that all of them have been perfect) but more on the penalties that they don't call. The last two races were perfect examples of this, but it happens every race weekend but in less covered incidents.

What do I expect for the next race, or the last 4 races? Pretty much the same things that we've seen so far, I don't expect the stewards to have turned a corner, and I don't expect the drivers to make big adjustments to their driving styles. If Lando and Max are racing wheel to wheel, I expect Max to push Lando to the limits and be perfectly okay with a collision as it would take both of them out potentially and help ensure his win. I expect Lando to continue to race cautiously when around Max, sometimes to a fault.

If I had one wish for this season, it would be that neither championship is decided until the final race, and maybe a big ask but a consistent stewards and race director for that final race (if a repeat of 2021 happens I might just have to take a break from the sport).

It's good but hasn't been "open 20 seconds in ~10 laps good" like the RB19 was especially at the beginning of 2023. I think it's going to be a proper McLaren vs Ferrari fight for the constructor's next year.

It's possible they sandbag for 3rd for more aero time since none of their upgrades have really offered any discernible improvement.

The hate Lando has been getting has to be around his poor pole to win conversion. He doesn't really seemed mentally prepared for the full race.

Any bets on if and how much Max will be penalized this race for either leaving the track and gaining an advantage or pushing a driver off track? He does have a bit of history of this at this track and there are a lot of chances for overtakes, he'll be in the pack to start the race due to the new power unit penalty.

If I was going to guess, no penalties for Max this weekend and he toes the line again but just not quite as badly as this past race and thus avoid a bigger penalty.

Of course I'd love to see Lando get another 10 point or more swing this weekend, if for no other reason but to keep the drivers championship from being decided prior to the last race.

Love that guy! He comes across very unbiased, professional and to the point. The two hosts have known biases and make fun of themselves in the process. Reminds me of my simplistic takes of various F1 topics. Definitely worth a listen or watch. Eye opening from a former team principle’s perspective.

George is hilarious! I think he’s a whiner. Comes across as the group tattletale. Yet people (my wife included) love him ? I don’t get It…. Guess I’m just jealous

Max, on the other hand, is more simple. He’s like that little kid who needs a good penalty smacking to keep him honest. Now that he doesn’t have the fastest car, he’ll test out those limits/stewards until it’s clear as mud what will and will not be allow. There’s no doubt he’s fighting for that championship at all cost. I think this weekend he’ll be a bit more cautious?. Last time he got “in trouble” (with Lando) he behaved for almost a whole race didn’t he?

I think you’re right. It‘ll be nail biting from the start to finish for these last races. Maybe with both Ferraris up front and McLaren sandwiched in between, or vice versa this weekend? Max in 4th or 5th if any of the other top 4 don’t mess up. Unless the F1 Whiz (@RWhiz ) has a different prediction.

Delay it so the McKaren's can swap position, but the second Max is 2 tenths behind Oscar coming onto the straight, they throw it up, and ends conveniently right after Max passes the opportunity to pass.

Oh, bad luck for Max, let the Max fans start their endless complaining and blaming everyone but their team for their issues.

I really didn’t want it to play out like that, I would have rather a repeat of the sprint (minus the VSC) to let the drivers in good conditions to fight for the points and championships.

That was so odd that even Hinchcliffe was like WFT just happened?!? Maybe he didn’t realize the mic ? was still on and kept talking. Cuz we all were sure as hell thinking it. That’s for sure ?. It almost seemed like they had a yellow flag button next to the live TV broadcast. Hulkenberg already walked away from the car. Hold your positions, wait for Max, wait for it… NOW!!

Even if it was all coincidental, there’s no hiding the broadcasters hate (or envy) of Max. With the exception of a few good announcers, like the analyst girl (that I can’t think of her name atm) and James just being honest yesterday.

As for today (going forward period), could it be any more clear it‘s time for Checo ? to go elsewhere??? You see these other teams with their teammates close by to help. Case in point yesterday with Oscar and Lando. My other ½ was fuming and I explained if Sergio were up there with Max they’d be doing the exact same thing. It’s almost like Red Bull fans have forgotten what it’s like to have a co-driver helping you win a dadgum championship

Meh, calls go to favour Max and RB, conspiracy theory FIA favour Max and RB. Calls go to favour Lando and McLaren, theory the FIA favour them.

The real issue will always be consistency. Some luck or lack there of happen every race weekend and this is no different.

Agreed there, brilliant drive by him, and benefitting from some good luck on the safety cars, red flag, and other teams' strategies.

This year's WDC is virtually over. I think Lando needs the winter to sort out whatever thing he's got in his head and clean up his mistakes if he wants to contend next year. I fully expect Piastri, Hamilton, and Leclerc as possible title aspirants next year, so nobody can afford mistakes.

The WDC this year will be interesting. Curious to see if McLaren will hold on, or if Ferrari can find some more form to pip them. Either way, I see them as front runners for 2025.
