I’ll be honest. It wasn’t just flattery. It felt incredibly well balanced (pun intended) & fantastic!!! Why I got out and was scratching my head a bit. You definitely could feel your car was setup professionally. Luckily you were in there with me or I woulda pushed her harder. Warped rotors and all ?. Whatever they’re doing, keep it up for sure ? And curse you for pushing me over the edge to get a seat ? (I’ll be thanking you by Oct -Nov however ?).

As far as getting more experience, enjoy learning in a really well setup car. Once you start adding more camber, gummy tires, and going faster… the consumables will also go way faster as well. I couldn’t even imagine your ride with Verkline or SPL parts underneath & on slicks or even endurance 100s. Maybe your friends wouldn’t mind setting mine up next time I’m in MiHammy. I’ll gladly pay & extend my visit if they can ?.

Good reminder that I need to get my coilovers rebuilt - basic maintenance - so I’m ready to track again by then.
Haha. My car has never gone faster than that day and it will take a long time before I can push it close to what you did. Is incredible you were holding back on it!

sure thing next time you come down I can put you in contact with them. They are very good and they know their trade. The kid that took it out to test and fine tune is the last Lamborghini supertrofeo Cup and has been Trans AM champion several times on cars prepared by them. It’s a coincidence I know them and I’m usually a fly on the wall when they are working on their cars. So I asked them and he asked me what I was planning to do with the car. Drove it and set it up. They also welded the roll bar to the chassis for me.

I do have the Verkline arms in a box in my garage. I’m not sure what the best time for me to install them will be and whether I should go at that point with some other components (so far I just have adjustable springs and the front sway on the softest setting).
But as it is now, the car feels safe for me and I’m concerned that if I add too much too fast to that part of the car it will become too sharp and I will be like Lawson/Tsunoda on the RB: a car too sharp for the experience and skill.
At least for now I still have some life on my street tires so I will continue my track stints on those until they are no more and maybe move to 200TW at that point.???

So many variables….

Sounds good!! Since we were bedding in the pads, I stuck to threshold braking. Not the quickest way around the track but much safer when in someone else’s car. I think we were only one click off and I didn’t want to burn up your rear pads either (I should have turned it totally off but can’t remember). Regardless, she was definitely dialed in. I wouldn’t change a thang. You’ll notice more outer tire wear when it’s time to dial in more camber and the guys at your shop will know.

Other than that, upgraded tires would be nice eventually. Just don’t buy slicks. You wanna to hear them breaking away, until able to go by feel alone. With slicks or most semi-slicks you won’t hear them loosing grip until you’re already rotating. When you notice your hands counter steering during or even prior to any tire screech (and many solo qualified hours), you’ll be way beyond summer tire compounds. So you’re absolutely right. Nothing more needed at this point. Your car is OP to begin with. Plus you want to really learn how to momentum drive. More bolt ons can hinder that. Those MX5 and BRZ/86 guys do well in those platforms and jumping up. Cuz they know how to carry max speed out of a corner. Without that, they’re slow as ?. Some of the really good ones are running under 1:40 at Homestead. Which is insane!! They carry that over really quickly in higher HP cars like ours.

Damn I got off track, as usual ?. Keep up the good work amigo and see you back out there when it’s cooler ?
