Based on the info @ky.supra posted and what I can gather, I got a friend to do a binary analysis of the original Supra ROM and the G29/Z4 ROM used after the remote start conversion, mainly looking at the engine calibration, pedal behaviour and exhaust valve logic.
My old Supra ROM is...
I recently drained both the high-temperature and low-temperature coolant circuits on my 2020 GR Supra, so both systems are currently completely empty.
I have the workshop manual and understand that there are two separate bleeding procedures:
Low-temperature circuit: ignition on, engine not...
Without running a true vacuum gauge, it's hard to tell because the readout on the MHD gauges doesn't seem to show much below 1 bar absolute. Most other engines I've worked with will be running around 3.5-5 psi or that .3-.4 bar absolute. It'd be an interesting test to see if the gauge is right...
The crank case should not have coolant in it. If it does, you have a serious issue with the engine.
In my view, if the oil temperature never reaches 100C, there would be fuel dilution and sludging in the oil. But if the oil temperature in your car reaches or stays slightly above 100C in sport...
Why do you think they're too low?
The crank case is usually under vacuum from the PCV system, and water boils at a lower temp as pressure is reduced. I run my car in sport cooling mode all the time and the oil is still over the boiling point of water just toodling around (assuming you're not...
I set sport cooling targets and my coolant temps were around 80C-85C and oil was around 90C-95C. This was highways and spirited mountain passes. Ambient temps were always over 35C.
Switched back to stock cooling targets and the coolant temps were around 90C-95C and oil was around 105C-110C...
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my custom Stage 2 6MT tune for anyone having issues with MHD OTS maps on a 6MT.
The goal of this tune is to give anyone starting a base file to work from, especially if you want to start tuning your own car without having to go through the entire learning curve...
On a good tire (200ish TW or better) and stock power, fuel starve is very real at 1/2 tank or less. For instance a long right sweeper like between T13 to T14 at CMP, I've hit fuel starve/limp mode multiple times, ruining potential PBs.. The only other real weak point with stock hardware is low...
Have you checked the coolant level of both tanks?
It's possible that there was an air bubble trapped, causing a lowcoolant level.
I had the same thing with another car 40km after the water pump was replaced. I filled it up, and it has been going strong ever since.
...a week ago, everything seemed to be back to normal, great.
I've put maybe 50 miles on it the past week, and tonight as I start it up, about to go pick up some late night food, I get a LOWCOOLANT WARNING and immediately feel PTSD flashbacks lol.
Just gonna bring it back in. Idk what to say...
I did the oil and coolant change. This was the first time doing the coolant since taking ownership 6yrs ago.. (car has 6k miles).. the old coolant was a clean green color for both the high and low temp circuits and did not smell awful or anything like that.
I don't have a vacuum filler so...
Ya my mechanical water pump starting weeping at 37k miles 😭
I got a new oem and it was full of burrs inside the coolant ports.
Maybe that's why my original pump went bye bye.
BMW quality control was 100% Yolo sending it with my pump.
I'm not entirely sure, they just referred to it as a "coolant pump failure". I had a lowcoolant warning they brushed off about 8 months ago during a regular service, they topped the coolant up and said to keep an eye on it in case I get the warning message again. Which I didn't, even with this...
Is it the electric low temp coolant pump? It's underneath the intake manifold closer to the steering rack.
This is the pump that directly interface with the Freon in the AC system to exchange head.
Or is the failure the mechanical pump in front of the car driven by the belt?
Either way, the...
Not sure if there's a good way to drain the coolant other than disconnect the bottom hose from the radiator. I haven't personally messed with the cooling system before.
For bleeding, this should work:

Image ??. If it's wet and forming a drop/drip from the pump seal weep hole then the seal is "on the way out" Might last months or less. Hard to say. There are approx 20,000 drops of water in a litre so even losing 100ml of coolant going to be a 2000 drop mess so it's not about the leakage rate...
