  1. Nug's Time Attack Car

It's pretty frustrating. I thought I was doing the right thing asking the dealer and Nitron to spec the springs rather than telling them what I thought it should have. It is crazy that if you buy $2k coilovers they bolt on and work but you buy $13k coilovers and you have to fuck around with...
  2. Nug's Time Attack Car

It appears that Nitron has no idea how to pair springs with their shocks. Firstly they sent divorced springs in a rate that seems more appropriate for a coilover set up. The rear shocks went back to the retailer who converted them to coilovers but just put the same springs on them, which are...
  3. TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

What part do you want to cut? Mine is cut for a diffuser and I still have the canister?
  4. TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

The Verus HD splitter sticks out 80mm. Which is 30mm too far for WTAC Clubsprint rules. I'm now getting a custom one made that will attach using the Verus mounts and air dam.

  6. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

I run so the lowest part of my car is 80mm off the ground because that's what my class rules say. Looks like below. You want a bit of rake and also want to look at the suspension arms, don't want them going past parrallel.
  7. Better Solution for an Intake Duct

I'd be keen on the plastic version also.
  8. Annoying Soap suds rear light duct channel/boot

Did you know Tasmania is gradually getting closer to the mainland? Because Victoria sucks.

@maniac your bumper stickers are ready
  10. Nug's Time Attack Car

I never nailed turn 1. When I got the confidence to send it my shocks were blown and the front end felt awful. Min speeds of 180kmh are about 20kmh off what I've seen comparable cars do. Would also never attempt it on a bike  I did do a ton of laps in Asseto Corsa, so I knew where to...
  11. TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

Are they the calipers that take 25mm thick pads? If so, it looks like the same kit I'm running. But I use Ferodo DS3.12 in the front and DS2500 rear.
  12. Nug's Time Attack Car

It's funny you use that term, I had a friend who is a much better driver than me there on the Wednesday helping with coaching and set up. He asked if there was an issue with the car in turn 1, when I said there wasn't his exact phrase was "time to strap on the balls mate" Would love to...
  13. Nug's Time Attack Car

I don't know if the rear is an off the shelf kit. My mechanics source Alcons from www.coore.com.au I'm not going to get too focused on weight reduction, (although I have personally lost 14kgs in the last 6 months) it was just a nice surprise that the car was lighter than I expected.
  14. Nug's Time Attack Car

One more thing to comment on is weight. When I first got the car I weighed it and it was 1524ks with a full tank. I haven't made weight reduction a priority as it was a street car until recently. All the interior trim behind the seats is now removed, but a half cage was added. Other than that...
  15. TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

I actually let Nitron choose my spring rates. I just told the Australian dealer all the relevant info about my car.
  16. TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

Why are you switching to a divorced set up?
  17. Nug's Time Attack Car

They do. Was good to actually meet Greg from Sydney Composites (who built the wing and diffuser) and Kyle from JKF (who designed them) while I was in Sydney.
  18. Nug's Time Attack Car

Already planning for next year. This year we rocked up at a track I've never driven, in a car I hadn't driven for 10 months and zero time driving it with aero. As a result I was about 4 seconds slower than my target time. So not looking to make big changes, just tweaking and dialling it in...
  19. Nug's Time Attack Car

Copied from my build thread on another forum. WTAC lived up to the hype for me. Took 4 days driving across the Australia, had a rest day in Sydney Tuesday. Then hit the track a driving solutions track day Wednesday. Lost the morning session as the wastegate actuator was playing up again...
  20. Nug's Time Attack Car

 done. I did address that in the first sentence. It is still street registered, just spends more time in the workshop than on the street.
