Not emissions. Depends how strict they are locally...and if you don't have 'a guy' I found it easier to keep the downpipe on, OEM exhaust and I unplug the JB4 (back to map0).
Might be time to go catless and get a FEMTO unlock
Appreciate it. Car is a monster when it’s like 80* outside. Been in the teens and twenties here and I get so much throttle closure unless I’m map 1 or 2.
@ColonelAdama - do you ever see the need to change or adjust maps with extreme temp swings? I had a Map6 created mid summer, temps 90+ degrees that ran great. With winter here in NH its well below freezing and surely gas is different. That same map6 runs terribly and has a lot of throttle...
Harbor freight super low / super long jack works for me. Front up, put jack stands. Jack the rear, put stands. I also have some low profile ramps since I'm lowered on Whiteline.
this is also a great How To.
Any idea why it broke?? Rather than just get a new one and install, check the rest of the setup! Make sure it won't happen again + throw the OEM exhaust on for now.
Agreed. But that one trick is no joke. Surprised there aren’t more of them wrecked. Putting a 9 second car in the hands of the public with decent (not bad. Not good. Probably not enough for the speed and weight of the car) brakes is wild.
I have a pretty basic Supra build with a JB4 and it feels great. Then I had a ride in a Tesla plaid. Yikes. It’s so sterile and ugly and horrid and then it slams you in the seat with 1000cc motorcycle acceleration. I hated how much I love it. Wish I could have one with the Supra.
Anyone else?
HKS super turbo is tough to find out there! Always curious how it sounds compared to others. A few on here have it. No sound clips other than random YouTube stuff.
