Hi. I am thinking of manually disconnecting whatever controls the sport exhaust so the valve is open all the time. Before I do this, some questions for anyone who has lived with this “mod” for any length of time:
1. Is it worth it?
2. Are you seeing ANY unintended problems (e.g., a CEL) with...
Tell the dealership you expect them to pay for the work done at the shop Porsche recommended. If they don’t agree to pay to get the job done correctly, let the dealer know you will:
1. Write a letter to Toyota to reporting their negligence and incompetence and ask that Toyota make things right...
I agree. To clarify, I meant the GM should offer to pay for the PPF at a reputable shop. My Toyota dealer works with a local shop that PPFs very high end cars and they did a great job. It did not even cross my mind that the dealership would do the PPF themselves as that is a real specialty...
I would tell the GM of the dealership that you want them to PPF the front bumper at their expense for the all the trouble you have been through after paying top dollar. Tell them you plan on taking your car there for years of service and this small gesture would make things right and establish...
If this was my car, I’d:
1. Find a body shop that specializes in high end cars. If you have trouble finding one, ask your local Porsche or Ferrari dealer who does their bodywork.
2. Tell the dealership you will not be satisfied unless your car is handled at this shop.
3. Bring you car there...
Hi. Just curious: can anyone show me some dyno results for the stock B48? I know it’s rated at 255HP/295ftlbs but BMW is known to under rate their engines. I’ve searched this forum and others but cannot find anything that is clear. Thanks!
That’s my rule too. My understanding is Top Tier gas includes detergents that can help prevent carbon build up. There is a website that explains it all. Here is a list of brands off their website:

Hi Everyone,
I have heard that the factory charge pipe is plastic and can crack and cause engine problems over time.
Is this true?
If yes, any suggestions about the number of miles when it’s probably time for replacement?
Is it a fairly easy DIY?
The car is bone stock with 16k miles and a...
If just the JB+ is installed on a bone stock car, does the car then require more frequent maintenance (e.g., oil changes, spark plugs, coolant, etc).
Also, would the car require adding any special parts to improve cooling or anything else? Questions from a noob here! Thanks!
Hi Everyone. I did my first oil change on the 2.0 today (dealer did several previously). Here are a few tips/things I learned:
1. The oil filter housing takes a 27mm socket, NOT the the 32mm for the 3.0.
2. To find the front center jacking point more easily, I used 3" high Race Ramps to see...
I changed the oil on the 2.0 and used the 12" "Wheel Cribs" by Race Ramps. They seem even safer and lift the car higher than traditional jack stands, and they are made in the USA. I also learned that the oil filter housing for the 2.0 uses a 27mm socket and not the 32mm one for the 3.0.
Question 1: what does the “C5” designation on the Toyota branded oil mean (e.g., special ingredients, special properties, magical powers, etc)?
Toyota Genuine Motor Oil SN
OW-20 C5 for GR Toyota Supra
Question 2: does the BMW branded oil have whatever the “C5” designates on the Toyota...
