I'm not too sure about that. Possibly for the fully packaged 4 cyl. depending on power maybe. I put together a list of current 4 Cyl turbo cars offered today and what I think this car would be competing with starting prices/weight. The numbers may be off and rounded here and there but are pretty...
^^ They could be taking them to a track so that some of the press journalist can get into them and get an early test run in. Kind of like what BMW did with the Z4 a few weeks ago.The cars will still be in camo and the interior covered up but it will allow the journalist to give feedback on how...
At this point I like the front end, don't love it. But you can see the potential is there. I'm sure once the camo is removed and you can get a clear picture of the entire front end, lines, curves, possibly real vents it will bring out the car that much more. The rear and hips of the FT-1 are on...
This could also mean that that the entry level will come with the fake vents seen and the top trim have functioinal 'GR/TRD' aero vents which could be upgraded into the base model.
GUFF - you may be on to something. I wonder if Toyota really studied this and said hmm we're better off not having functional vents and is why we see the design we do today.
Still one thing that attracted me to the FT-1 going off the the video Calty did with Motor Trend shortly after its debut...
I hope you're right about the mirrors. Yeah I guess it has made some light strides comparing anything to the 1st proto-type. Since the exterior started looking FT-1ish I expected the interior to follow suit, not identical but close. Instead it seems like its based off the Z4 interior concept.
Damn. The exterior has come a long way (minus the side mirrors + the fake vents). Although not much has been seen interior wise, doesn't seem like much has changed from the little we have seen in the past. The HUD is about the only exciting thing from this and the BMW Z4 steering wheel somewhat.
^^ so the nice loud exhaust notes heard in the video are not from the Supra :(
It is frustrating especially for all of us on this site that have been following this car for some time. But I do understand these things are done to bring hype back to the Supra name plate. Especially since those...
Glad I didn't stay up for this one. Geneva part 2 all over again (as expected). It does sound pretty nice when it takes off but can't confirm if that's the Supra making that exhaust sound or another car running around in the background. In some parts it does sound really good and in others kinda...
Any confirmation on this? The livestream says it starts in 18 hours while the countdown on this page shows 11 hrs / 40+mins. I just want to make sure I have my popcorn ready ;)
^ I agree. That and the fact that Toyota has not had a serious sports car in almost 2 decades in the US. The sports car competition from all car manufactures has improved within these 2 decades.
If it's another tease, the post should've been:
#ToyotaSupra is back.
A90. Another wet tease

Just reveal the damn thing already.
" When we completed the GT86 project, I thought we had done our best. This Supra instead will go much further. The driving experience will count more than any description. There are many important supercars in the world. Ferrari and Lamborghini are pieces of art. But, speaking as an industrial...
