You are right on the money, I've been doing some tests too, just put the lid on last week and I am seeing some loss in power (logging with Ecutek). I will compare now with the stock airbox too.
Thanks for sharing and yeah, at least here in CA the heat is on and yeah, this MST may not be the...
TLDR: Can confirm, Ecutek is great and Marin tunes are awesome, smooth and reliable.
I want to revive this thread just to confirm the review. Moving from BM3 to Ecutek is one of the best decisions I made with this car, the power delivery is great and smooth, no jerkiness, no limp mode, smooth...
Is there any performance benefit from these exhausts compared to stock with catless downpipe? I don't want to get this car obnoxiously loud without reason. Besides stock sounds really good, my aim would be for a lighter exhaust with better flow.
Hi,
If you take a look at the grill and the intake design, looks like the plastic cover is exactly in place to cover air:
Not sure why Toyota put this cover in place, maybe for safety and avoid having debris and water out of the intake, or to protect the heat exchanger behind? Haven't seen...
The Sales director and the financing guy, both told me the same thing, that they are very very rare. But I don't trust much of what they say, they will say anything lol. But now I am starting to believe it.
Not sure if this related to this...
Hi Marin, do you think that the higher compression in the 2020 under meth or some high octane fuel would be an advantage at the end? For pump gas I am sure the 2021 would be way easier to tune for 91 and 93, but given equal high octane fuels, would be a real difference?
I am really interested...
Wow really, the nice white with spoiler? I found it in the Bimmer Forums, the best example I could find actually, and that spoiler looks like the duck one in the Supra. Do you still have it?
Hi,
Many of you have been following the new Supra since the FT-1 prototype back in 2014. Then we got to know the production version and while it changed quite a bit from the prototype, there are some familiar vibes that we can recognize, for instance, how similar it looks to the old Z4MC...
Agreed, seems to be on par with a 991 Carrera S 911 or even a bit faster.
Note aside, in order to migrate to Ecutek, I had to put the Stock DME again, and whoah, you get spoiled with the tunes, the car felt SLOW and more over, limited, you can even tell the turbo spool is slower (14 psi vs 22...
Just two times, it was an S4 when the Supra was Stock, was from a roll and I was ahead by a car length. The second was a shinny i8 and it was CRUSHED, poor owner with this $180k space ship.
Are you running E30 or regular 91/93? I felt the E30 OTS map too jerky.
Well. bone stock:
AMS Downpipe with E30 BM3 OTS Map, Stock tires:
Now I am moving to Ecutek and have 285 Toyos R888R in the back, I hope for 11.3 @ 126 mph, something like that.
As reference:
My ex Mustang 18 GT Manual did 13.1 @ 114mph
My ex Stinger GT did 13.1 @ 108 mph
Friend's 440i...
We are in the middle of 2020, some people got their Supras back in what, July 2019? What's your current mileage?
I got mine on Decemeber 2019 and barely 4530 miles.
